Exclamation Drove in the snow, then Service Engine soon light FTL

And shitty thread started. I drove in the snow for the first time with my car, was fun but after doing careful donuts (not flooring it or anything just enough to spin) My service engine soon light came on. The car is 8 months old with 5,7xx miles on it. All I have for engine modification is an aFe intake and that's been on for 3 months. No it didn't fall off I checked . And there are no errors on iDrive. All well time to a trip to the BMW dealership for a loaner car.

Now for the people who just scroll through threads looking for pictures:

That's just sick...

Anyway, get the code read to see what triggered the SES light.

Get the code read and cleared. If you don't have access to a reader, cycle the ignition 3 times and see if the code comes back.

I don't of the code reader. I did that on an off 3 times kept it on for about 30 seconds at a time. Hmmm

Just going to head to a BMW dealership. It's closer for me then Autozone. Plus free maintenance so I could care less.

Don't think that will work. That said I now seem to have a BIG problem. Don't bitch at me for doing this but I just went to get pizza and when I went home I let off the gas pulled the ebrake not hard at all as the wheels lock up easily in the snow to swerve at little for the lol's of it. Then my car shut off just at the top of the hill and I had to roll down a snowy hill to my house where I had to start up the car to get up the drive. Oh noes!

weird.... i just got my first CEL as well last night. I took off the traction control and punched the gas, rear slid out. The light didnt come on until I had cycled the car 3 times. not sure if it was even related, but ive never done that in my car so far. 2008 335i. will be bringing into dealer. they can 'deal'er with it.

How old are you guys? Doing donuts in the snow???

Sorry, I just don't see the point of doing that to a car. Just my $.02.
