Best place for a Oil Change?

Hi Everyone,
I am out of warranty and am on my own for an oil change. I was thinking of doing it myself, but am up in the air about it. I don't know how I would reset the "scheduled oil change" on the computer.

Does anyone have a shop they could recommend (around Natick) or would anyone want to make a few extra bucks doing the change for me?

Any input would be appreciated.

DIY. It's easy and you save some change. I could help you out also if you'd like.

Here's how to reset the service indicator.

After turning the vehicle to the radio mode, (everything on except the engine), you have to hold the button down AFTER the date/time, temp screen comes up in the LCD screen.

To reset the service information data using the cluster:
• KL-15 on and all Variable displays in cluster off (clock should be displayed)
• Press and hold odometer reset button until CBS pictures display in cluster for about
5 seconds then release
• Use the BC button to scroll through till desired resetable picture is displayed.
• “Reset?” is displayed, Press and hold BC button a picture of a small anaolg clock
runs through its display. When complete, the CBS reset that you chose is reset.
• If you want to insure that the reset was done, you can press the BC button while still
looking at the CBS reset pictogarm and the acknowlegment of reset will be shown
with a check mark in a box

YOUR garage/driveway. It's (usually) cheaper...and you'll feel better about the change knowing it was done right (aka right filter was used and right amount of fluids added)

How much is it at your dealer? It's like $60+tools if you DIY. It might cost more to DIY the 1st time around if you don't have all the tools. I think other shops might not use BMW approved oil unless you insist and pay extra.

Dealership is 100.00 so maybe for an extra 40 it might be worth just having them do it so its said and done and dont have to worry about disposing of the oil myself

There is a BMW shop in Natick: http://www.landsharkautomotive.com/

ask them. they can drop the price if you ask..... to reasonable amount of course. On their website it said: Dealer: $120 and they charge: $95. I mounted and balanced my tires with them. Good price and job was done right the first time.

About 5 minutes from that place my friend has his own dealership. he did my oil change last week. i can ask him if you want.

but $100 bucks for oil change with oil and filter is pretty cheap. Oil and filter alone for 335 are like 70-75 bucks. < bmw oil and bmw filter of course

Anyone try Village European in Concord, MA?

The price on a Non-M BMW oil change using 10/60 oil it should run about $95. Does that seem like a decent deal?

If you are talking about Village European, they use the OEM stuff.

They use Total Quartz by Elf I believe. Apparently this is one of the best synthetics available and more than meets BMW requirements.
