Anyone else with reoccuring bent wheels?

This didnt get much love the in the wheels and tires section but I have some style 108's on my e90 335. Last september I took my car into the dealership to get the water pump replaced and they told me that both front wheels and my rear left rims were bent and I paid $345 to get them fixed. Yesterday I took my car to the dealership to get the brake fluid flushed and they told me that both my rear wheels are bent and need to be fixed for another $300. Is it really that easy to bend oem wheels? I think its a little odd that my left rear wheel has been bent twice in six months and I don't want to have to keep fixing these wheels every time I bring the car in. Should I just fix them again and move on or is it time to get some new wheels? Thanks in advance!

Well bring them in to the first place you got it done and demand they fix it again. You must hit potholes all the time. Its hard to bend oem wheels but many have including me. Mine was due to very low profile tire and a stretch and the crater caught my wheel and tire and bend it.

BTw style 108s are off a Z4. The offset is 47 and 50 in the rear. You couldn't possibly have these on unless you have some crazy spacers on.

18x8 et 47
18x8.5 et 50

Honestly why did you even get them fixed int he first place? I can buy a set for 300-400 all day. I've seen them go for anywhere from 200-400 shipped from ebay and bimmerforums.

I think your best bet is get some nice wheels that fit your car.

Thanks for the input. I bought the car two years ago with the 108s on them already and they didn't have any spacers on them at all. The front wasn't bad but the rear wheels were so hidden it was ridiculous! I threw some 10mm on the front which look great now but put 15mm on the rear and it's better but not much. I've kept these wheels for so long cause I like the look and haven't seen any other e90s with them. I'm leaning towards getting rid of them mostly because I want something wider than 8 and 8.5, and they run through my run flats so quickly.

My dealership told me my rear wheels were bent. I took them to my independent as well as Discount Tire. They both inspected the wheels (new tires and alignment). Neither found any bends.

Do they look bent to you? Are you having problems like vibration? I'd be tempted to get a second opinion.

I've bent my style 162s once. That is, one wheel one time.

Now tires and winter wheels on the other hand, I have literally lost count of the number of tires I've destroyed and wheels I've bent.

I've had my wheels fixed twice so far...hit a massive pothole a week after i got them fixed the first time and bent both wheels on the passenger side again.

Now I'm looking out for potholes more than other cars

RFT on sport suspension is BRUTAL. RFT is the root of it as sidewall is really only half as high as it appears and therefore tire cant absorb impact like a regular tire. i took mine off after about 1000 kms. Awful. Evil. Ride was way better with normal tires.

I agree. I'm replacing my stock RFT's with Conti DWS next week. I suffered from two bent style 195's this winter, both passenger side, same damned pothole! Front was bent so bad the tire wouldn't hold air. Here's to regular tires being better! Make sure if you switch you get a spare too.

RFT's are actually known for having stiff sidewalls, not weak ones.

I had to get myself to and from doctors appointments for a stomach infection this week.

I AM DONE with RFTs. IT WAS BRUTAL!
