Aggravating issue...Help please

So I've had an issue with my xi that has been going on for the past 2 weeks. When driving the 4x4 failure light, brake light and traction control light come on. When this happens the car will not accelerate and it starts "bucking" (RPM's jumping from 500-1200). I've also noticed that the car seems to be stuck in the gear it is in when the problem occurs. If I shut the car off and restart it the issue clears and I can start driving again. When I do shut the car off it almost sounds like it wants to stay running and kind of rumbles as it shuts off. Sometime the issue wont happen again that day and sometimes it happens again five minutes later. It does seem to be happening more frequently though (3 times today). I get the following CC ID codes- 24, 354, 351. Dynamic brake control brake assist failed, start assist inactive and 4x4 and DSC failure. I installed a sport steering wheel with paddle shifters a month ago and that is the only thing I have really done to the car in the last few months (signature for mods). The paddle shifters work fine so I do not think that is the issue. Anyone have any idea where I should start? Thank you!

Kinda sounds like steering wheel angle sensor. Do you have a tune installed?

Yes I have a "wedge" tune installed but that has been in for a while (8 months). I was thinking steering wheel angle sensor as well but why would that cause the issue with the "bucking" idle and inability to accelerate?

Definatly steering wheel angle sensor!! Wedge flash doesn't like that error and causes the car to act up. I have same issue. Prior to wedge flash I would get SWA error lights come on car still drives. Turn car off it goes away for awhile or even weeks. Got wedge flash now when it happens car looses throttle and rpms rev up and down. Turn car off and on and back to normal.

I lowered the car and I'm hoping that's why my SWA (steering wheel angle) sensor is acting up. Sounds like maybe yours might be from steering wheel swap?

Has something to do with the wedge tune at least the newest one. If you pull the codes it is probably 2d59 which is something with torque failure. Exact same symptoms happened with me. The tune runs fantastic but this issue caused me to go to back to a prior version of flash. No more issues.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who's car is possessed It is driving me crazy... I may try to pull the sensor out and clean the optical window on it because I really do not want to pay $400 for a new sensor... Thanks for your reply!

I'm thinking I may have done something to my steering wheel angle sensor when I swapped steering wheels. Im going to pull the steering wheel back off today and check things out.

Ken (wedge) just emailed me and said this is probably due to my torque load settings in the flash. He is sending an updated flash...stay tuned (pun intended)
