Help Me Decide Which Car

Hey guys, I don't know if you remember me but I needed help deciding between these 2 335is' and I chose the Le Mans Blue one.

Sadly though, today I figured out that I would not be able to get this, because of dealership problems and such so I did some looking into and I found a few 335i's but I need help deciding between a few things.

*Note* All of these 4 cars have between 20K and 30K miles, and all are about the same price.

1; 2 of the cars are tiptronic and 2 of them are manual. I like the manual but I feel like it'll get annoying for me down the years.

2; Also, 2 of the cars are white, and 2 of the cars are black. Black looks nicer but I hear it's harder to clean.

Any help is appreciated!

edit your post on which are black. Traffic will get annoying with manual, but if you are a die-hard gear head, you will get manual.

Black is hard to keep clean but when taken care off there's nothing like it. Manual is not a big deal for me and I live in NYC. After the first few weeks you won't even notice you are rowing your own gears, but once you get out for a drive the feeling is priceless.

Voting for 6MT and white. 2nd choice would be 6MT and black. Part of the joy of driving a BMW is the manual.

These are things we cant really suggest. Its more of your preference. Though, i would say that you wont regret getting a manual car and you may regret getting an automatic. It depends if you're willing to drive manual. The automatic transmission is pretty good though. Drive both!

and of course get white

Id go with the 6sp manual nothing like pulling up on an auto and being able to SHIFT how god intended

Plus it would be easier to upgrade any components like clutch and flywheel.

You could make the exact same argument about a white car, haha.

You're asking a question about two very subjective characteristics of your future car: color and transmission type... Not sure how anyone on here can help you brother. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks...

My subjective response would be white 6MT e92...

If you need help from others when choosing between AT and MT, go with the AT. You'll get sick of the manual eventually.

Since the autos on our 3 series don't suck and actually gets better with the Alpina flash, get it in auto. You live in Glendale and the freeways around you don't really scream traffic-free.

Yes, black is harder to clean and keeping it clean but it looks better than white when it's clean.

I don't understand how people can try to make objective claims about what color looks better. It's ENTIRELY a matter of opinion.

6MT and black, like mine. Colour is well worth the dirt. I would never do an AT in this car, it suits the MT beautifully. So much torque that traffic is no problem.

To each their own and will recommend as such to validate their choice.

To that I say 6MT otherwise why bother with a BMW.

For that matter, if your worried about traffic they why bother with the turbo?

Deductive reasoning is if you gotta get the Turbo, then get the MT. There is no other way to look at it is there? Don't even go there with "paddle shifters"...............

Why not just go look for another 2011 335is CPO? They are giving 0.9% financing for 60 months and the first payment is free (up to $500)!!!! You will have plenty to choose from in Nov/Dec/Jan.

So true! You need to try both, I purchased my 6MT a few years ago and honestly sometimes I do like driving my girls auto...buuuut after a few drives I NEED to come back to my 6MT.

Again this is just me, I'm getting older but I cant see me getting upset at the 6MT. I'm from Toronto so you know I'm in traffic 99% of the time

Even better, the 335is has a version of the M3 7 speed DCT, so no need for Alpina flash
I agree this decision is totally personal - I have always owned manual transmission cars, but the traffic in Toronto sucks, so I went with the DCT and am happy with it.

I was originally going to go with a Le Mans Blue 335is, but unfortunately that didn't work out. I think I'm gonna go with black as the color for sure, especially with coral red interior. Tonight I am going to the BMW dealership to test drive both the AT and MT to see which I prefer, but it's a hard decision! Also a bit of extra info, I live in the LA area where traffic is practically everywhere, won't I get annoyed of the manual?

Only you know if you will get annoyed by it. For some it's second nature.. for others it's a pain . A MT is DRIVING, AT is steering ( but it can still be fun in the M modes ) . As a father while a young child as much as i love MT, opted for an AT . It still gives you the option of "shifting" which is enough to get my by when I miss the days of an MT. Drive both, get what you like. You have to pay for it not us..
