Has anyone tried getting the "dusting" out after you remove the spark plug? You can kind of see some debris in this pic:

Use some compressed air and/or some Brake Kleen(and don't forget those safety glasses!).

Snap-On makes some really nice ones. Mac Tools or Matco or Hazet, Geodore, also make nice stuff.

Just make sure the wrench you are using has a middle range of what you are trying to torque down. In other words... if your tightening something to 21Nm use a wrench that 21Nm is in its middle tq range. Say a wrench that has a range of 5Nm to 40Nm. Not a wrench that can torque up to 250Nm!!

Also don't forget when storing your tq wrench never have it preset to the tq setting. This compresses the internal spring and over time will throw off your tq wrench's accuracy. Always have it set to ZERO ft/lbs or Nm - when not being used.

I can not see the OP's @e.n335 pictures either.

It looks like @e.n335 uploaded his pics to a third party site and the account has expired. This is why its always a good idea to upload your photos to the forum directly. Just click ADVANCE MODE, then use the paper clip icon to upload pics directly to our site. This way they will always be there for future members.

I had mine done by one of my friends who is a mechanic, im not sure if he torqued them or not. the car runs fine and i haven't had any problems. I was just wondering if there are any negatives of not torquing them to spec?

You are over due for new plugs! For all x35 engines the spark plugs should be changed every 45K miles. IF you are running a tune... every ~20K is the norm.

When you get a PPK tune from BMW this is what they say...

I replaced my plugs 5k miles ago and have a mis-fire. I identified it as a faulty coil and am planning on replacing all 6 for peace of mind. (75k miles). Should i put any die-electric grease in the coil before installing the new one? If so, where? Just a dab inside?

Yes, you can put just a dab inside the coil boot where it snaps onto the spark plug. die-electric grease can not hurt.

I have a question on your plugs... Did you use BMW-Bosch branded(dealer bought plugs) ? Sometimes the aftermarket Bosch plugs can cause misfires.

Best thing to do it check your codes... and see WHICH cylinder is misfiring. Then move THAT coil to another spot. Then road test and see IF the misfire moves to that cylinder. Of course with high miles >80K miles and with a tune... the coils do wear out.
