Vanguard Exhaust Owners - Need Your Input!

Hey guys - for those of you that have a vanguard, do you get backfire/burbling when you let off the throttle and decelerate? Love the exhaust and it's an interesting sound, I just want to make sure it's normal and that it's not cause of a bad seal or anything.

Thanks

Yup, normal. I'm probably going to get rid of my Vanguard though and got with and AE.

AE will be MUCH tamer, i use to have one. My favorite sounding exhaust has go to be the old school UR exhaust...this vanguard is my 4th one. Will proably try HKS next

Is AE tame? I heard it was pretty throaty. hmm...

I heard HKS was good. Not as loud of Vanguard but I think every varies from user to user.

Vanguard is a copy of the HKS exhaust and yes it is not as loud as the vanguard. But it's a much more "cleaner" sound if that makes sense. Also, hella expensive.

Notice the completely different mufflers and that's why the sound is completely different.

Of all of the exhausts that we've installed, the Vanguard sounds the best IMO. I can't say the same for the fitment. It's terrible.

That's surprising, for me it fit the best of all my exhausts on my E93. Do you know if HKS has the backfire/burble sound too?

Fitment kinda sucked for me too.. spent about an hour bending hangers and fitting tips.

Love the sound though. And be warned, there is a MASSIVE difference (at least for me) in volume from day one of install, and 1,000 miles later. It definitely gets louder once broken in.

Perfect sound with stock downpipes, might be a bit loud/annoying for some people with catless downpipes (I love it).

Cold start shakes my entire house, but 1 minute later it's smooth, deep and quiet (ish)

The Vangaurd took no time to install and fit like a glove... Not sure how fitment could be bad.

I bought one used listed in the for sale section and had it installed yesterday. Since mine had already been installed on another coupe the fitment was more or less already done and the guys had it on in less than 2 hours. Sounds really good, I like it a lot. I drove back with it 110 miles yesterday and made a run to OKC and back today, about another 400 miles. It has enough low end to make my interior rattle in a few spots, but once above about 2400 rpm it quiets out a lot until you put your foot in it. My first cold start was this morning and it was surprisingly loud, which is good because my neighbors are assheads. I'm sure they'll dig it when I leave for work every morning at 7:30.

Marvin, if you wanna hear the AE in person, I'll be in SJ next week getting some parts installed. It's definately tamer than a vanguard but with the AE with catless dps is loud enough for me

My old Vanguard fit like a glove as well. I had the V1 which was a bit louder than the V2, but oddly enough I think my PE is louder than the Vanguard was on my car. The AE sounded like crap to me and didn't last long.
