Would love to see you test the Mr.5 vs DCI! A lot of people don't believe me when I say the stock box is restrictive at higher than stock boost pressures.

The hose is much smoother on the inside than it is on the outside since it is constructed with the reinforced ribs on the outside.
Hose was purchased here:

I looked into silicone but when the number of turns and straight sections started to add up, it wasn't really worth the money and time to me and I wasn't crazy about the appearance.

I have seen pictures of at least one Mr.5 Intake variant that used this method... Here it is, post #33:

I'm not really sure, since I have never seen a comparison test.

I would hope that Dinan was better if I actually paid full price for one.

Paying the price for the CF and "engineering". ALL intakes are within 5% of each other in terms of IAT's and 60-120 times. You can see the testing done by Mr 5. I sure as hell wouldn't pay that $ just for a sexy looking engine bay unless I show the car.

I'm up for a comparison if someone loans me a DCI.

I could do Mr.5 / DCI / Mr.5 dyno runs back to back with a 15 min cooldown between. I have installed a Helix IC since this last test.

I am definitely not buying a DCI just to do a test. Even if the DCI performed marginally better on the dyno, the Mr. 5 should have better real world throttle response, has stealth look, stealth sound (no DV noise), and my engine bay stays cleaner (DCI sucks dirt under the hood).

As always, I reserve the right to change my opinion if the facts show otherwise.

Might be worth it, still expensive, but I would pay $500....I do secretly like it.

The only problem I ever had with the Dinan intake was the price.

I am curious how close the performance really is. Engineering / testing should have maximized performance. The principal flowpaths are the same. Dinan was apparently working with the constraints of only modifying the lid, so airflow due to different geometry may have an effect.

...of coarse then I would not have experienced the fun of building my intake either.
