I think it is a little more than the screen (other factors to consider) etc.. and if BMW were to do it they would charge and arm and a leg I am sure.

Just go get a Garmin (fwiw: I like my wife's Garmin over the cars GPS sometimes)

Probably not. You might find a dealer/tech to take it on but it's one helluva project. You basically have to take apart the entire dash board, center console, etc ... and put it back together again.

It will almost be cheaper to sell your car and get another one. It is very possible and there is a link to the guy who sell's the entire package. You will have to send in parts of your car to get coded for it as well. You're looking at at least $5000.

There is a company out of canada that sells all the OEM conversion parts. Bimmernav I think.

The problem is that on top of the parts that you expect (Nav unit, coding, Nav CD, I drive controller knob, updated harness) You also need a new dash. That entire piece is a single piece and it needs to be replaced. Real OEM last had it at around 1200. Oh and don't forget the center trim piece for an I-Drive controller.

It is a pain in the butt. I was planning on doing it on my E90 335i but I gave up because of the amount of work.

BMW will rape you on the price. Would be better off selling your car put 4-6k down that you would have spent on the retrofit on a new car with nav.

If you go the non BMW route there are places you can get all the equipment and have it done for less. Check out some of the vendors that sell them.

OR

You can sell your 328 and buy mine for cheap it has everything

Yup, It does work out to be more cost effective to put that money towards a car with Navigation. You'll even get the latest I-Drive which is super awesome.

I will have to look @ their page (ones w/ bluetooth capabilities) and being able to connect to say your cell to stream etc...

I have played w/ a lot of units over the past 5 years and seen a lot of great progress in them all. Plus they are "easy" to use. I have owned my BMW for 3 years and sometimes get pissed when I am trying to locate something and can not and then BAM! the damn garmin does

No disrespect, but this is a stupid question lol. It's a completely different dash, several components missing and lots of electrical work.

Did you just look at your dash and say..." I want Nav, let's put it in"

why is it a stupid question? At the end of the day some parts come out some parts go in. The only question is how many
