Antoine/Chris,
I had a great time. You guys were great company as always. It's rare that I get a point by from a GT3. The red MCoup is a formidable car as always.

Day 1 was a hoot. Always fun to learn a new track. Day 2 ion Hoosier Wets - a must. Lots of grip. I eventually went back to the NT01s and got stuck in the rain so I decided to call it quits. Day 3 - Mucho fun, but didnt find anymore time. Too much traffic with the added students in our group. There was a scary moment for me on the back straight coming up to 8. Bad shift and locked up my rear end in front of the SebDavid's Corvette. Lots of tail wag but didnt loose it (Phew).

Speaking of loosing it ... Here is a fun video trying to hang with a Ferrari and the spin out in turn 2.

I tried to keep up with him for 5 or 6 laps. I'm sure he just got a little sick of seeing that little green car on his tail corner after corner and tried a little too hard to break free. He was just carrying too much speed, went wide and before he knew it ... trouble. I'm glad that there wasn't any more serious drama than that. He was back out on the track the next A session.

officially signed up for VIR with PCA... White group with no instruction. paid $375 for the event. i am definitely surprised that the 3-day event costs so little. i guess its because the event is held so late in the season ?

Me too... done just now. same group.. same low cost. At that price we might have to pay for our fuel.

Accommodations suggestions? I tried track side, but couldn’t find anything. Will call tomorrow.

change my engine air filter on the green frog yesterday. found out that one of the bolts that secure the air filter box to the car is missing. i know the previous owner doesnt tinker with his car on his own so it must be the fault of some forgetful mechanic.

working on porsches is a huge pain in the butt. the opening of the engine bay cover is ridiculously tiny. i can barely get to the screws and bolts needed to take the air box out and replace the filter.

I'm not even sure I can use the "First World Problems" phrase on this...

I have read that we need to supply our own sticky numbers for our cars. I guess that is where they save money.

I should have picked a single digit number instead of 777

I hear you. That was my primary reason for going with the M3 in the end.

Nobody warned you that you need a lift in your garage if you have a Porsche? ANY work requires dropping down the engine......

I didn't do an alignment in over a year. I might need one. So I will get a spot with Garbis in the coming weeks.

I speculated from what you wrote But for some reason I thought you had square setup, who changes only front tires nowadays ? (Yeah, Chris won't have square set-up either with the P-Car).

Even if you have a square setup, unless your car is perfectly balanced your going to wear fronts or rears differently.

I agree, but if you rotate front to back they should all wear similarly. My four corners have the same wear doing this.
