Multiple monitors or use a tv for PC gaming?

I'm going to be setting up a new gaming system for myself and want your opinion on whether or not I should buy 3 nice monitors or one big 52" LCD.. Ive never been to knowledgeable on monitors/tvs or at least not as much as computers, what set up would be better for gaming?

I haven't really decided how far away the tv would be.. I'm re doing our spare room into my "office/game room" ..

Ill be playing games like crisis, sc2 and whatever else comes out..

If you are looking to game on the comp, 3 monitors would be your best bet. They have a set called eyefinity which uses 3 monitors as 1 big screen. Very nice.

I have a 52" t.v. and it's not great for computer gaming at all. Plays great for XBOX though.

If you're using a console, go with the TV. Not sure if the console would be able to support the resolution that the 3 monitors could provide, much less a multi-monitor setup in general.

Title and thread states he is using this for PC gaming....

He just happens to have a ps3 that would need somewhere to go as well....

Best bet, eyfinity 3 monitor setup for PC gaming. Get a cheap 32"-42" for console/movies

I looked up eyfinity, I more so want 3 monitors to multi task as apposed to stretching it onto 3 monitors... although it would not be bad to have both..

I have two monitors set up at my work. It's amazing and very useful. I can multi-task much quicker. I could only imagine with 3

If you want, I can help find you some excellent monitors on sale. What's your price point?

Definitely need a GPU that can support it. If you have three 800x600 monitors (for an even number example), you're saying you'd like a 2400x600 resolution.

I know some games can take advantage of multi-monitors showing different views.

I'll check around and see the best deals right now. What size were you thinking about for 2-3 monitors? 24"??

These fit your needs and have excellent contrast, response time, hertz cd/m2 etc...

If you want to splurge a bit, these are top of the line. I'm sure you could find a good deal on ebay.

no clue why anyone would be bashing it... what resolution did you have in mind? 1920x1200 or way higher?

No... mini-DVI, I think.

When playing games it does not stretch the image onto 3 monitors. You get what you would normally see on the middle monitor. The monitors on the sides show what's going on in addition to the normal view. Pretty much just peripheral vision. I can see that being super handy for FPS games. Especially when Battlefield 3 comes out.

God that would be epic.

Do all games have that capability? I still like to play cs 1.6 every once and a while and that game is OLD

Not sure to be honest. I don't know much about EyeFinity compatible games since I don't have it.
