2007 328i E90: Upgrade from CCC to CIC...WANTED
I was wondering if anyone had done a retrofit from CCC to CIC in the San Diego area? I 'm interested in getting the upgrade, was wondering if anyone provided the service or is this only a DIY? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated |

Installation http://alekshop.com/pdf/BMWMIDIYGuide08.pdf ^Use that as a guide. Activation You need to activate the navigation. 2 ways:
Patryk@BimmerTech can provide both. Tell him jasonn/AoshichanX sent you and he'll give you a good deal. Wrap-Up Coding Even if everything is installed correctly and technically functional, the equipment needs to be tailored to your vehicle's specifications (your "Vehicle Order") so all modules are communicating with each other properly. You can search and DIY how to code. OR you will have paid for this service when you purchase your activation method. Again, message Patryk@BimmerTech Other Notes If you choose to go through Patryk@BimmerTech, I'd recommend having him update your CIC to Ista 42 to make it Combox/BMW ConnectedDrive (6NR) ready. So everything will be good to go should you decide to go that route. Last edited by jasonn; 12-16-2011 at 01:50 AM.. |

anywhere between $1200 to $3200 pending your know-how. If you aren'y a DIY type person, I'd set aside $250 for the physical installation and $2500 for the navigation parts/coding. Also, if you're gonna start purchasing new parts, I'd consider upgrading. For example, if you're gonna buy a new center console anyway, I'd spend a bit more for the leather m3 center console. Looks cleaner. See my garage for pics. |

oh also, there is a difference between US Spec CIC and EURO Spec CIC. US Spec can receive HD Radio (free) and Sirius Radio (with paid subscription and activation) signals.
First Pic is US Spec; Second Pic is Euro Spec. You will also notice that the US Spec has 6 programmable buttons + FM/AM and Mode buttons whereas the Euro Spec has 8 programmable buttons. Patryk@BimmerTech has the ability to code the FM/AM and Mode keys into programmable buttons. US Spec: (IBOC Tuner = HD/Sirius Radio) Euro Spec: (no IBOC Tuner) |

would these come standard in a 2011 E9X with CIC or are the parts you will need to buy seperately for a CIC retrofit.
