(8)psi normally for regular around 10-11 in overboost mode. most people think overboost is when you floor it. wrong. i've tested this car many times and overboost activates only in launch control. it shortens up all gears add more boost. think of it like this. it squeeze 7 gears into 4 gears for 1/4. average 335i's score 13.5 13.6 or whatever i guess. I score 13.1 on 5,000 miles with run flat tires. im not sure if you add just the fmic youll gain much without a tune. thats something you gotta ask the rest of the folks. i didnt wana take the easy way out so i did the whole bang. FBO+ cobb tune then cobb pro tune then reworked on a dyno for protuned stage 2+ for 93 octane and 100 octane. i'll give you a ride one day and show you what 17+psi feels like in these cars. |

The Dunlop Direzza Z2 Star Spec is amazing, lasts a long time and is on sale @ Tire Rack right now. One of the issues with R comps is they need lots of camber to work. Like -2.3 degree's or more. It's something to add after suspension/camber changes or else you'll have uneven/faster wear

BTW, so much for it being a one-time trip to the track...I'm spending my off time looking at used 944 & early M3 track cars, hunting for the best downpipe/high flow cat combo, trolling the racing forums, ordering telemetry accessories for Harry's Lap Timer...I'm doomed. I blame you.

Right now I have -2.6 degree's and I ran street tires at Road Atlanta last weekend. Street tires are a blast when it comes to slip angel modulation. Learning how your cars set up from the factory and what you could do to optimize that platform for your driving is a must i'd say. Before my car could theoretically only need different struts at shocks to achieve -3.0 degree's of camber (ideal for slicks), however, i'd need to re drill the strut mounts and shim the mounting points and replace the mounting bolts with extended ones. Instead of the modification to the car itself, I just bought camber plates for my aftermarket struts and springs and the car is optimized for any style of racing tire. Evo's and Sti's can also be adjusted for a significant difference on the track in stock form. If you are looking into a dedicated track car, go M3 over 944. The 944's are slowww and the 944 Turbo's will be a lot more expensive to run than an E36 on top of being roughly the same performance wise.

Hey ya'll last brake question....for an "everyday driver" should I do drilled / slotted / slotted-drilled? Which would be better for a non driver/aggressive driver?

Do any of you guys know where I can park my 335 without getting it towed in hopes to get a buyer for it? Grocery store, gas station, park ect? The advocate and craigslist blow so far. str8nm--- With more seat time and switching back and forth I can tell you the M3 is a straight beast. I've learned that the shift points are everything on this car. 1 being a slow grocery getter to 6 where the lack of low end torque goes so quick you forget about it. Getting back in my 335 every once in awhile is fun it feels slightly lighter and the globs or tq are sick but I do find myself missing that 8K+ rpm's. I feel like the turbos give you this quick hit then die out where the M3 is just the opposite. The steering almost feels bland going back to the 335 now. But then when I go to the M3 its almost to tight at first until I get use to it again. The M3 dares you to push it around a corner the 335 feels so light but when you corner hard it feels like the car wants to push a lot more. Im sold on the M3. I still hate how hard it is to make fast compared to the tuneability of the 335 and I like the weight of the 335 but everything else I give to the M.

Anyone know of a reputable/decently priced indie shop in NOLA (preferably in the Metaire/River Ridge area)? Moving from Houston to NOLA for work and just looking for a heads up on an indie shop.
Thanks! |

Metairie: Greff motorsports on Airline Hwy. Great work and great people, but they charge just as much as a dealership. I took my car in for an alignment and they set up my coilovers for me.
There is one in River Ridge, but can't remember the name. Todd can chime in on that one. He knows the guys there. P.s. Don't EVER go to Peake BMW on Vets. |

If you want cheap and reputable, bimmerworks on hickory in Harahan. If you extremely reputable but not exactly cheap, greff motorsports as Alex suggested.

I'd use Greff Motorsports for track related advice/ race alignments/car set up.
Bimmerwerks is good for anything else you can throw at them.
