I dont really mod my cars much. I just save my money until I can upgrade to the car that Im trying to turn my car into by modding. I think alot of people would be shocked if they looked at how much money they spent trying to get their cars to perform like an M3, rather than just having bought an M3 in the first place.

I fall into the last category, I work 50 hours a week for a software company, Have
a wife and beautiful son and and a home... My E90 is my first BMW thats not 15+ years old
( first BMW was an E30 ) loved that car.

Hard work is how I own my current BMW! Nobody benefits from handouts.
does the last category make you condescending and a bit offensive or is that just you? I went to school. Worked hard.
7 years of school after highschool, but not gonna ridicule fellow bimmer lovers for finding a quicker way there. no need to offend people.

Being a design student in college means getting 4 hours of sleep everynight even without a job. Parents are helping me financially, I just eat the unhealthiest and cheapest food so I can save up my allowance money for mods.
Before I got into the design program, worked at a cafe for $8 an hour and slowly saved up for mods.

This.

Living in OC-Cali isn't cheap. Our 4 bedroom townhouse is $2500/month. 4 roommates (were good friends before rooming) helps some.
Thats actually a deal. My 1 bdrm apt is $1600 and that is cheap in la. Cant move cuz other places are 2 gs for a smaller place?! Wtf. Need to buy soon.

+1.
A few more mods and it would be a stock m3. I dont care how fast it is or how cool it looks its not an m3. When is the damn m2 coming out?!!

Btw im an f30 guy just reading around here because it seems as though its all old ppl over there. I reposted the track day thread from here and literally two ppl answered. One a friend who is going and one other who cant make it. Plenty of views just no interest. And then there is a "20% tint yesterday" thread that gets 736292 replies. Lol. Now im just babbling.

Quik sounds like he needs to be in a luxury line f30. Lol. Some ppl are better off than others from the start. 50 hours a week is nothing. Try 70. And no lunch break.

Planning, if you want something then working really is the only way to get it.

Some of the members on here. Not a lot granted but have a fbo 335i and a m3 and a bike all new plates so some are doing well lol

Our hobbie and passion for the most part is our cars so I guess it goes at the top of the list on things you spend your money on, some party every single weekend. Drugs etc and some gamble.

I just save up, I've saved enough over half a year to buy my 335i back.

Anythings possible

Back on topic I just bought my first set of rims ever in 2012. The rims are already scraped up and dinged from potholes. I wish Ive never bought them because I could have used that money on a hot tub or some other toys Like those massage chairs from Brookstones that I could actually enjoy. Yeah my priorities are somewhat out of whack.

This ridiculous post at first was laughable, but realistically, its incredibly eye-opening. IMO you must make a minimum of 2.5x the price of your car to "afford" it, including potential maintenance and break-downs. For you kids making $10/hr and buying expensive cars, call your momma and bi$tch at her for not teaching you a damn thing about responsibility. <Rant over>
