Car is up and running!
The front bumper got some love before being reinstalled. The original installer of the lip used some very interesting hardware, the screws looked like 2.5" wood screws with a conical head, lol. I replaced everything with some bolts, washers, and nylon nuts. Also now that the front bumper mesh has been removed I decided trim the tabs and Plasti Dip the inside of the bumper (to cover up some overspray). The headlight washer covers also needed to be mounted with some 3M VHB as the washers were deleted. Next will be some ER air ducts for the inter and oil coolers. Things went well after a preliminary shake-down, no codes, no leaks, and the car was hitting the ~12psi spring-only boost in Map 0. Lots of Data-logging to come as I work onwards and upwards. The oem LPFP and HPFP are still installed, I wanted to see how well they perform before replacing them with the new HPFP and Fuel-It Stg 3 LPFP. Evan Interesting hardware choice... New mounting hardware for the lip Before trimming tabs and Dipping the backside After trimming and Dip Washer covers mounted with some 3M VHB, the industrial stuff, not the Home Depot special. After Before/After Relocated some window stickers Beast Mode "Just for Fun" I threw my F14 SDC on the rear of Matt's car, this is what a 19x11 et12 275/35 looks like on E90 with rolled and pulled fenders... It would run like crazy but it looks proper... Dog The Rotiforms are 18x11 and offset looks to be in the 20s, the R888s are 265/35, crazy how the R888s stretch, or rather, how they don't stretch. Garage Queen is out! Face Reassembled |

I followed Tony's advice and swapped my 10328 Delphi coils for 10571s.
10328s 10571s Subs, amps, and enclosure removed #WEIGHTSAVINGS Quarters can come in handy for meters and car washes; nickles, dimes, and pennies take a hike! #WEIGHTSAVINGS! |

Front end looks so incomplete without the plastic honeycomb. Wish the intercooler was as wide as the bumper opening. Would look nicer if all the coolers were black. For how clean everything else is, just kind of an eyesore.

Great work!!
Are those ER oil coolers? I'm looking for an oil cooler bracket for the driver side, you wouldn't happen to know of any thing? |

One was relocated to the trash as it was expired, the other to the glove box.

Although I own an Eastwood roller and have done some fender work in the past, I saved this one for a pro and hit up Adrian aka "Fendarolla." He rolled the fenders on my E61 and I have nothing but praise the guy and his work. He is based in SD but makes trips to various Southern California cities, I met him in Fullerton.
The front fenders received a roll and slight pull along with a tab relocation and liner trim. The rears were already rolled, too much in fact, with a substantial pull and unnecessary lip flair. I asked Adrian if he could repair the rears and he wanted nothing to do with them, don't blame him. The fronts turned out great and rubbing is way down from before. Evan During After |

Rear bumper had some paint damage: a large chunk by the diffuser and then another ding on the corner. I will need a respray to be properly repaired but in the meantime I used some oem Alpine White touch up paint to lessen the eye sore.
My OCD kicked in and I removed the annoying headlight warning stickers, if you play with HID ballasts then it is simply called "natural selection." |

Yea, they are cool, I prefer the design of his old Forged 1 wheels. The fitment on the Rotiforms is a little wonky since the offsets are too aggressive and R888s don't play nice... Here are some older pics of his E90 (along with my old E39 M5) Evan |

Absolutely, E39 M5, E46 M3, and E30 M3 are all-time!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuel-It Stage 3 LPFP Install One way to keep the flap out of the way. Stage 3 LPFP, new oem HPFP, and Fuel-It lines + E85 sensor. Evolution of Speed manifold/PI and Split Second controller in the mail! :drinking: Left: oem Right: Fuel-It Stg 3 I ran the trigger wires up through the rubber conduit on the passenger side of the DME box. Power wires wired up. I OCDed the 3rd buckle out of the way. I bought a license plate frame for my buddy. His car has a carbon fiber theme so if you are going to carbon fiber then you might as well go all-in! (frame is real CF (so says the seller)). BEFORE/AFTER Carbon, carbon, carbon! The weaves match up pretty well! |

I walnut blasted the valves, the valves didn't look bad but the walls had a lot of build up, one of those thy were worse than they looked.
Every time I do this I just think about how much I hate doing it. The service takes a little bit of skill/technique but big-picture isn't very hard to do it is just a very awkward space to work in. It took me 3 hours from start to finish which, for me, is lightning fast, like WR type speed. The valve cleaning was very timely as I wanted it to be done before the Evolution of Speed manifold/PI was installed. Upgraded fuel lines, ethanol sensor, SS controller, and the EOS manifold/PI will be going in next week! Evan You can see @Pr3ci5n up in the lift... Here is a "during" shot of the cleaning. When I start to clean a valve the first thing I do is scrape the walls, then blast, then scrape/pic, blast, scrape/pick/brush. This is after the initial scraping... 1 2 3 4 5 6 All ready for Port Injection... |

great build thread! I enjoyed reading through it! This makes me miss living in florida where I had a garage to do my own work. #Bostonsucks

Took advantage of the rainy day and made some progress on the fuel system.
Evan HPFP replaced Goodies Installing Split Second controller Here is how I situated the Split Second controller inside the DME box, first a pic of my DME box with just the JB4 in it. The slot between the DME and my JB4 only had a single relay in it. I removed the relay along with the plastic wall it was connected to. This plastic is only held in place with 2 clips and can easily be removed. Plenty of room for both the relay and SS controller now... Injector wiring is routed through the oem rubber boot, oem wiring shares the SS conduit then splits off past the valve cover. I am really happy with how clean it came out. Ground wire PI and Stg 3 LPFP trigger wires ran to usb. Last edited by ucsbwsr; 02-01-2016 at 01:15 AM.. |

- Fuel-It lines and ethanol sensor are installed
- Evolution of Speed Port Injection Manifold installed - Split Second controller wired and flashed Time to burn through the remaining 1/4 tank of 91 oct and then it will be time for e85 and a lot of logging. Evan Fuel-It line installed. oem line capped. Lots of zip ties Ethanol sensor I originally bought a $5 amazon cable (right) and was having connection issues, Split Second is a local business so I went there in person and this is the cable they recommend and sell: Flashing Jb4 Integration map Pleased with how the DME box came out, it houses a JB4 w/ usb cable, the Split Second controller, triggers for the LPFP, trigger and power for ethanol sensor and SS controller. All external wires are ran through the oem conduit. Final prep Going in All done Pretty clean and simple for a 700hp engine bay. Might have to relocate the expansion tank as it is in such a poor location. |
