Dont get me wrong, The Astra VXR is a nice car to drive on short journeys. The acceleration was brutal and it upset a few more expensive cars (no-one, myself included, expects the pace it served up for an Astra) However, it would not relax on a long journey and always felt twitchy! The BMW is definitely nicer to drive and more refined, but I cant help but miss the savagery every now and again |

The VXR against a 325D is chalk and cheese.
I had a Astra GSi turbo 2003 model for years running courtenay cs4 and it was great fun. I'm now in a E92 335i but still look back on the GSi fondly. A 325D with a remap will probably be as fast as the VXR but without the sudden overboost pickup. I've never had a bad word for FWD and you will love RWD. Well until it snows anyway. |

The bmw is much more relaxing to drive and iv relaxed a lot since having it. Ill even admit to the straight 6 purr growing on me after being used to a banging, popping sports exhast on the Astra. |
