Navigation and Real Time Traffic Experience

The Houston area experienced severe flooding over the last few days. My trip home .. South of Houston .. is normally about 40 minutes. Yesterday it was 2 hours and I was glad to get home. I turned on Navigation as I left work and watched the Real Time Traffic light up with closed roads, flooded streets and slow traffic. I crawled South with everyone else. In Friendswood everyone was turning around due to high water. I tried East, and West and finally used a main street to go further West. Each time the Navigation system kept routing me toward home. I would not have another car without it.

I was not about to run my new 335 coupe in water

Cool. My next BMW will have it, my current ones don't. I did just buy a Garmin Nuvi 660 though, and it also has RTTI but I haven't tried it out yet.

PresaMat,

I bought my 335 coupe from Advantage in League City. Ordered July 8th, built Sept. 9th, picked up October 7th.

There appears to be a retro fit for the newer 330's to add real time traffic using the new NAV disk.

I contacted Navteq today and no one can confirm if the 2007 version had this feature on the new software.

Does anyone have any experience with the real time traffic function in the Seattle area? I always get the "Currently no reception" message. Same for my friend with his 2007 5-series. Is this working already?

I would love this to be true, how do we confirm? Do you have a BMW Bulletin on this? I've seen most people report on forums it is a totally new iDrive system hardware replacement for E90 owners.
