The AA tune does a wonderful job of shallowing out the 2 dips to keep that power running strong over a longer period of time.
I have to agree on this....under WOT the car feels sluggish, not sure why but maybe this is how the tune is mapped???
But ones you know how to work the throttle...you feel the power

Yup! 5-10% more loss in awd vs rwd

Ed: so basically what a 130 (and almost 330) should put down stock

I don't really feel any sluggish in the power, just feels very smooth when WOT. When you feather the throttle, you can see where the power kicks in, which is a nice feeling imo.

Probably put down around 225-230.

At my levels, you are pretty much inline with a 330 already. I have seen 330 dyno between 212-220hp.

You have one strong n52 congrats
Thanks bud. I'll keep zack in the loop as well here and there.

Maybe, your car has a different compression ratio, but I am sure Andrew can fill you in. I don't know if you will have the same torque curve as the n52 with DISA.

DESI4life10, I found a DISA that been salvaged off a flood damaged 330i. Should I risk it? How did you verify that the DISA actuators worked??

The price is competitive and in Canada, no border fees
If the price is right, I would do it. What do they mean by floor? Like was the engine submerged in water? or did it take in some water?

To check, you can use a resistance meter and measure the resistance, or plug the DISA in your connectors and rev the rpm (triggers with rpm)

330xi?

A rwd 130i should put down 230-235 as far as i know .. That's 265bhp.. A 330 at 255bhp would then be 218-225 or something.

I think I am in between a 330xi and a 330i in terms of power. I am looking at doing a run with a 330i with a pbx soon. See how that goes.

I found a different one, from a 2009 x3, rear end damage
Local toronto yard shipping it in from their NY state yard.

Glad not to pay courier & custom fees, as they are in the price probably.

fingers crossed it that it checks out

Hope you told them to take some pictures first to see what it is exactly and what is included. Goodluck.

Am I reading this correctly? Using the 3 stage manifold the addition of the AA tune added an additional 4hp (212 to 216) and 14lb of tq (195 - 209)? Is that correct?

What am I overlooking...

Don't look at just the final number.

Can't do much there with an NA engine. Look at the difference in hp and tq throughout the cruve..The difference opens up in the midrange (bulk of where you feel the power)

Totally agree. The difference is in the area under the curve, not really the peak numbers as they're just a snapshot at a certain RPM.

I'd also note that the first 2 runs were done at 59 degrees, whereas the last run was done at 84 degrees and 80% humidity. Even with no tune, we can all feel a difference in performance between those conditions.

Hey Guys,

I had the chance to do comparison dynos on all the mods that I did on my car and figured this information might be useful for some folks looking to follow the same path.

The difference with my dyno results is that I was able to do a baseline dyno followed by several additional dynos after adding mods.

What you will see in the graph below are 3 dynos with the following mods:

Dyno 1 (RED): Stock Ecu with Performance Intake+ Performance Exhaust
Dyno 2 (GREEN): Stock ECU with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust
Dyno 3 (BLUE): AA Stage 2 Tune + with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust

One thing to note is that Dyno runs 1-2 were done in nice cold climate, 15 deg C (59 deg F), where Dyno run 3 was done in 29deg C (84 deg F) with 80% Humidity. With that being said, I reckon that I should be able to extract about 5-7 more hp and ft-lbs if the temperatures were the same as runs 1-2.

Overall, I am very impressed with how my car has handled the modifications. The manifold alone definitely complimented my car even without a performance tune. The AA stage tune helped to smoothen out the 2 big dips that occur when the DISA actuators engage and also tweaked the AFR to get some more mid-range power.

I have been working with an AA rep to tweak the car and this is pretty much the best we can get for my car (that makes sense). The blip you see in the later stage of Dyno run 3 was due to the wheel speeds registering different speeds on the front wheels and the transfer case locking the wheel to get them to rotate evenly.

The way the car responds is definitely a massive improvement over my stock setup. The power delivery is strong and the throttle response is very sharp and crisp.

The best feeling is when you pass 3500 rpm and the car seems to just pull really hard. One thing for sure is that these cars really run out of power after 6500 rpm.
I have managed to run in line with an 2009 Acura -TL SH AWD (310hp) and both times I took him off the line and continued to open it up (beat him by 1.5 car length).

As for modifications, this car is done and I have no reason to add more power. I am happy with where I am sitting at right now and just going to enjoy the car and maintain it.

My car from the outside is pretty much stock, as I was never into cosmetic modifications. I was more driven with modifications that would benefit the driver (wheels, suspension, sports wheel, and performance modifications)

Now here are some details on the car.

2007 328xi AT
75, 000km (46, 602mi)
e90

Enjoy the results and if you have any questions, please post them below.

Dyno Comparison (All three runs)
Dyno 1 (RED): Stock Ecu with Performance Intake+ Performance Exhaust
Dyno 2 (GREEN): Stock ECU with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust
Dyno 3 (BLUE): AA Stage 2 Tune + with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust

Detailed AFR for Dyno Runs

Here are a few runs for each dyno did above (did about 3 runs per dyno)

Dyno 1:
Stock Ecu with Performance Intake+ Performance Exhaust

Dyno 2:
Stock ECU with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust

Dyno 3:
AA Stage 2 Tune + with 3 Stage Manifold + Performance Intake + Performance Exhaust

Hey desi4life, would the secondary cat delete cause a "service engine soon" light?

What do you think about doing the secondary cat delete + magnaflow muffler.

Trying to ball on a budget for now lol.
