Just purchased a 2011 G37X sedan prem/nav automatic for my fiance and I'm kinda jealous of the technology features and ease of use when compared to my 335. When compared to the cost of my car used (purchased it with 48k 6MT,RWD, NAV = $29,000.
Her Sedan 19k on the clock loaded $28,000. Traded in our lexus IS and got the G for 23k out the door. For a ladies car, i have no problem driving the G. I can still punch it when needed, and I'm keeping the miles off my baby

All are good cars to be honest. My step father has a G35 and it's never given any problems. I was very close to closing a deal on a G37S coupe before buying my 335 (glad i didnt now lol). With everything that the 335 has to offer, I think its better.

I had an 08 G37S coupe for a 3 year lease. I really like the car and lowered with 20" Vossens it was absolutely stunning. It was very reliable too. The only reason I didn't purchase at the end of the lease was because it was in 2 accidents and I didn't want to own a car with 2 accidents.
So I ended up in a 335 e90. Now I love the 335 e90, but it isn't reliable worth a shit. It costs a boatload to maintain too. So much to the point that I am considering getting rid of it and going either Acura or Infiniti. I've come close to pulling the trigger but everytime I get back in the BMW I just love the car so much. I wish it was more reliable and less expensive to fix... i would drive it forever. |

It amazes me how some people are just so concerned with power " I bought the g37s cause it was more POWERFULLL" well who gives a shit. Theres always something faster. I guarantee I can have just as much fun if not more in a M sport 6MT 328i. Ive never cared for infinitys anyways so maybe im just brand biased.

I was going to get the g37 coupe and stick the GTM or Stillen turbo into it. Then thought why hassle and get a turbo from the factory and got the 335i.
I would say the g37 is a little behind the 328, but for the money I would get honestly get the g37. If you can step up to a 335, then hands down a 335.

I hate to say it but I'd rather get a G37 coupe than a 328i. I've driven G37s and they're pretty quick. I always felt the 328i was lacking in power for my needs. Just my opinion.

335I > G37 > 328
While the 328 is a smooth car, and the performance is balanced... the G37 is reliable and faster. However the 335i is a BEAST... just costly. ppp

I definitely cross-shopped G37s (coupe and sedan) before buying my 335i. Loved the power of the G but there was something about the road feel/noise that I just didn't like. It seemed like the road noise funneled through the steering column. I love the way the road feels and the engine note in my 335i. Add the awesome power, it made it my choice.
Given the poor reliability of the 335i, I suspect I won't have it past the expiration of the CPO. For now, it's intoxicating! |

I feel like I should chime in since I own a G37S coupe and a e91 sport wagon. They're both great cars with each with their own pros/cons. The interior of the G37 is much nicer than that of the e91 (premium and sport packages.) I don't worry about the G37 breaking down, whereas with the e91, it's always in the back of mind. The e91 does not have a spare and we'll be changing out the RFTs for non-RFTs. That will pose a problem once our BMW assist runs out. IMO the G37 rides better, but probably because of the RFTs on the e91. I consider the G37 as my weekend warrior, the e91 as the DD (it's my wife's). For the price, the G37 is a better car. Maintenance is cheaper and reliability is better. They both look nice in their own way.
The e91 has cool technology in it, even though the interior is dated. Cup holders were an afterthought it seems like. I also don't like how the paddle shifters turn with the steering wheel. The power of the I6 is great from a stop. The seats are very comfy, and would be the car for long trips (note: lack of spare may be an issue). Start/Stop button while still having it "plug-in" a key fob is retarded. I honestly prefer my e34 (M60 engine) over the e91. |

Not sure how this came back from the dead haha, but definitely interesting new comments!
I actually think the interior of the BMW (335is) is MUCH better quality than the G37S sedan. Infiniti was nice, but the BMW is definitely more refined and actually feels expensive inside as compared to the G. And power wise, the 335is is leaps and bounds beyond the G37... unless you are modding, there is no comparison. I definitely loved by G, but my BMW is a step up in EVERY category (and the price different shows). I've never driven a 328i, but I still think I would have picked the G over it in the long run. What I've realized though is that the G could not handle for sh*t compared to any BMW... computer wouldn't allow downshifts and on curves it was hideous... (maybe because I had a sedan? but the car would not let me push or I would loose control)

It was a 2010 and I was considering getting the new Q50 until they released it and no stick was available (!!). Immediately began cross-shopping the S4, G37S IPL, S5 and 335is. The S5 had the styling but was just not sporty enough for me with regards to handling. The S4 was a blast but the fake engine noises turned me off and it was just "too easy" to drive hard... hard to describe but felt disconnected even though you could throw it into a corner, blast the throttle and pull out without any drama. Seemed a bit artificial. The 335is was much more lively and tossable with some edginess to it. Picked up a 2013 with a GREAT lease deal just 2-3 weeks ago. Very happy thus far. Incredible torque and mid-range power. The G37S sedan was definitely tons of fun. It actually handled quite well and had terrific brakes. I actually prefer a bit of the harder suspension on the Infiniti and may consider the performance suspension for the 335is, but financially I'm having tough time justifying it as it's a lease. Bottom line - if Infiniti had offered a stick in their new sedan I would have signed up. That said, I've always wanted a top of the line 3 series. With the lease deals they offering now and heavy discounts, I couldn't pass it up. |
