what warning sign is this?

I turned my car on today and it said SERVICE. I didn't know what it was talking about so i scrolled through my options and selected the Service Info, and it gives me this symbol and a service date of September 2009.

What is this symbol for?

Go get a service appointment booked?
Brake pads?
Coolant?
Ying Yang?
Age of Aquarius?

I called the dealership and they couldn't tell me over the phone. THe owner's manual doesn't have this symbol either.

Brake Fluid I believe.

Edit: Just checked my manual, it's the brake fluid!

In mine it's under Controls - Everything under control and it's on page 66 under the possible displays heading.

Thanks Bro!

Found it on page 68. But they didn't put it in the glossary in the back. Grrrrr.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just a scheduled maintenance item, I think. Get it done by the date, though.

it's the brake fluid, it shouldn't cause the squeaking sound. Your brakes might be gone too.

your brakes are low.......therefore, the brake fluid level went down causing the light to come.

replace the brakes+rotors.....brake fluid will go back up to regular setting.....

It just the reminder that brake fluid should be flushed every two years. The low fluid warning:
  • would be red
  • woudn't have a clock icon w/ date below
  • would show (!) rather than rippled waves
