Hi Guys,

My car is E90.
I have installed Eibach Pro Kit Springs on my stock shocks (non zsp) for about 1000kms now and im loving it. IMO, its height is perfect for street use, ride is very good and comfy.

But as what i have read here, alot of people are saying that stock shocks will bust out very quickly. I want to know, how quick will it be and what are the signs... no. of years? no. of miles or kms?

I would appreciate replies from people with the same setup.

Not too sure on the e90 but my previous car was dopped on stock shocks and never had any issues at all, prolly 2 years with the setup before getting rid of car. Rode just as nice as the day I dropped it. Sorry I do not have a story reflecting same vehicle, as each is dif I am sure, but the closest I could come.

it all depends on the amount of stress that the struts take, if your being rough on it all the time it will shorten the lifespan of the struts, so just go easy on it and it should last you quite awhile, but it may be different on these cars IDK

Stock (non-zsp) shocks started feeling loose/tired by about 30k miles for me (after installation). That's with daily commute over not so smooth city streets.

There is no set mileage or time frame for the shocks to go out as it is highly dependent on road conditions, driving habits and previous wear on the shocks. I typically recommend biting the bullet and doing it all at once to save on labor by having the springs and shocks swapped out at the same time. The amount of work is the same either way and you end up paying labor twice by having the shocks done separately down the road.

Nick, i agree with you but i did not want spend more that time when bought the springs. I only drive my car 2-3x a week in the city with average quality roads. I use my Civic to drive everyday to work.
