Okay I had two 8500 one in red and blue both were good. I had a V1 older version it was bulkier and got the newer version. Loved it. My brother got the 9500ix and loved it as well. Tried both of them and the V1 is just better. GPS or not V1 is the best hands down.

8500 x50 is Good
9500ix is Better

The stir w/ zr4 shifters according to sites isn't best shifters either.

I have lidatek & sr7 w/shifters in my jeep. Had them from car to car for years. Never a ticket. When they go off, I see the cop w: the gun.

Do u suggest the stir w/zr4 shifter pkg ? Isn't it the same shifter pkg as sr7 passport..

Beltronics Sti-R + and Laser Interceptor jammers are the ultimate amongst enthusiast circles. But you are talking $2K and change.

By the end there will be a stir plus , the shifter pack ( zr4) they sell wit it and the lidatek I have. I just grabbed one today new in box (Was in guys locker ) for $150. I love it I. My other cars and never failed me. So can't hurt for $150 to toss In there. I got the mk40 for $100. So again.. Why not. But if in adding the STIR plus, I mine as well as the newer shifter pack less the price of a ticket

V1 in the E92, Escort 8500 in the E36. My take is the Escort does a better job of filtering, but the SA with the V1 is better. Though I'm not really sure I need to know there's 6 rf emitters at an intersection, lol. Both have saved my bacon on numerous occasions.

Solo S2 FTW. Love not having the cord and it's very effective, saved my butt a number of times.

-V1 SAVVY
-V1 Concealed Display
-Laser Interceptor

V1: the range is excellent and the arrows are accurate as hell and indispensible.

Laser Interceptor: there is simply no better system on the market (and Cliff is the best in the business).

Use and participate in Waze too.

Dude, I have a Solo S2 as an absolute last resort. The detection is horrendous. Hard wire an X50 "Black" for less and quadruple your range.

Am I the only one running a cobra? Forget the model name but was $220 I got it for free with staples points. Can't beat that otherwise I would have gotten an escort 9500

Stupid question from a newb.. would you be able to give me a step by step on how you wired it in?

Looks like an awesome solution!

Thanks a lot

Not in my experience dude, been more than adequate in range and overall warning. The laser detection portion is another story but not a big deal; our cops rarely use it.

V1, I only have Laser active, since all the speed cameras in Western Australia has moved to poliscan units.

I turn Ka & K band back on when driving in rural area as old multinovas are still used there.

I'm thinking off getting a jammer install next year as the laser range for the V1 varies from decent to last second depending on how the poliscan cameras are setup, so I guess Laser Interceptor is the way to go?

Although I would need a good steath instill as LJs are 'kinda' illegal in this country, with radar detectors also being illegal in every other state in Australia besides Western Australia <win>.

In some state of Australia the fine for owning/using a radar detector is higher than owning an unlicensed firearm <roll eyes>

I have the v1 hardwired in my car and love it. next step is a laser jammer

Can anyone recommend a good laser jammer?

I think in cali, if you have less than 3 you just get a ticket correct?

Last edited by iturbo_bmw; 12-19-2013 at 02:05 PM.. Reason: laser jammer not interceptor
