so it looks like tire size does change it quite a bit, with 19" and 30 profile raising the RPMS?

That's going to lower the RPMs.
265/30r19 has a bigger overall diameter than the stock tires so you will hit 80 mph with lower rpms.
This is a good calculator that incorporates tire size.

Remember that the auto gear ratios are different than the MT.

Ahh icic... I thought that the MT was supposed to be at a lower RPM than the AT equivalent? The final gear ratios are 3.08 for MT and 3.46 for AT...

The actual transmission gear ratios for the AT is lower than the 6mt in 5th and 6th gear.

You got it.
Based on the gear ratios, the AT has a higher theoretical top speed than the MT but the MT might have an easier time of getting to the top and therefore could have a higher actual top speed given the hp is the same in both cars.

ahh!! i totaly didnt realize this. I assumed they were the same for some reason and that only the final gear ratio was changed. So even tho the MT final gear is taller, the AT has an overall taller effect with its 6th gear transmission.

at 80 mph, mine sits at about 3000 - 3100 rpm. Thats on 295/20/25, but I also have the quiafe lsd with the auto gear ratio. Was lower when I had the regular 6mt diff, but worth the tradeoff for the extra fun feeling launches.

Thats what my 335i sits at too with the 3.46 quaife in my MT. 275/30/19. I was expecting the AT to be ~ the same but it turned out to be much lower ~2.4k so i was surprised.

I'm not sure, but I think the auto has some sort of "overdrive" feature for highway cruising/fuel efficiency. I have no knowledge about how auto vs. manual transmissions work, but that's just what it always seems like when you compare an auto vs. manual tranny car of the same make. Could be the torque converters that auto's have.
