walbro went out already?

It appears the walbro's don't last long either. I did a transmission pan replacement and valve cleaning last night and car was idling for 20 mins I then shut it off and did the throttle reset procedure (hold the gas pedal down ect)still and I started car back up and when I put it in drive the car literally just died....I then tried to start it and it would not stay started...I even tried giving it gas at the same time and nothing...it just basically cranks.

I then opened up the fuel tank and tried cranking it and fluid flows but I am guessing not enough. I logged with the JB4 and cranking and fuel pressure is at 3-4 when it should be at 60-70. I am thinking either fuel pump is gone/weak (still pumping a bit of fluid) or there is a short. Maybe it is to low on gas....LOL!

Any ideas? Pump is maybe 3 months old.

I had a Walbro in a previous car and eventually replaced it with the far more robust Bosch fuel pump (044?). Pricier but reliable.

What's the part number? I'll add it to the site. Save you guys some $$$

I really don't think it failed that fast. I would have done trouble shooting before calling the quits.

I remember shiv mentioning something about the walbros not lasting long being run at a static 72 psi. Maybe he was telling the truth for once?

Walbros have never been known to last very long. Introduce a bit of E85 and they tend to die a bit faster.

These are supposed to be E85 compatible. That would be a shame.

Just means the material they make the pump internals are e85 compatible. Doesn't mean they will last longer. Rule of thumb 1 out of 100 will go bad within the first year. Just so happens Rob is the lucky one. Sorry Rob. Hope you get this fixed soon.

Yeah, mine popped-off as well. Once you get it back together, post some logs.

I ordered a replacement to test.
