I actually showed up at the Westminster location last night, even though I ~did~ receive the notice it was canceled. I wanted to take the car out for a drive anyway to see if 1)The car was louder 2) Any water leaking because I took off the plastic (blanket) head cover. (All the ignition and sensor wires are exposed.) I'll be datalogging whether or not the engine runs cooler with it off. Anyways, I was the only nut there, and no the car isn't any louder and all my seals around the engine compartment are a-ok.

I heard they still had the Loveland BBN....2 cars!
Alex...when I ran no engine cover and took off the microfilter shelf (microfilter still attached) it sounded like crap (major DI tick). I guess keeping the MF shelf in there quiets it down a lot from the cabin. Actually even with the engine cover on and the MF shelf out it sounded awful. |

I must have bad hearing. I put away the stock air filter for the winter and brought out my DCI friends to play with this summer. Maybe rain was hiding the noise?
Edit: Left the microfilter in. I'm not that nuts. Also, three souls showed up @ Westminster, myself and my two dogs. They're not car enthusiasts, but one likes to car surf.

Got there ~20 minutes late, then it started raining steadily, glad I didn't wash the car before hand. 2 E92 M3's, some X5's, some nice older M6's, etc.
Good seeing you again Fernando. Our cars are both 07 E90's, same color too. Funny that he's got all black trim (328) and is adding chrome trim while I've got all chrome trim (335) and am adding black trim. Your car looks good slightly lowered with rear spacers, that's probably next on my list. |

Yeah, I spent two hours washing my car on Friday...
Fernando has the sedan with 18's right? It looked great with the new five spokes. I can't believe there were THREE old ass M6's, awesome! Overall, it was a great time. I suggested that all of the different chapters meet in one giant meet. Hopefully it will come to fruition, I mean, who does not like tons of bimmers in one spot? |

Here's a quick phone pic I took right before the rain really started coming down (sorry Matt, couldn't squeeze your whole car in the shot):

It took me a few times to figure out the right launch settings too. Are you 6mt or DCT? But any how, glad to have another M guy in the club!

6MT, not a fan of dual clutch "flappy paddle" gearboxes.
As far as 335s go, I don't think my feelings will get hurt. Well, maybe a little. |

lol I have a 6mt too. I am not a fan of the paddles either although, when I was getting spanked by the 335s I did kinda wish I had the DCTs speed in shifting. Also, at the car control clinic they would have really come in hand when doing the AutoX. For practicality, DCT makes perfect sense; for fun, 6mt is the way to go.
