Question CPO and 3rd party warranty

Took my 08 328xi (45k miles) to get an oil change from local bmw dealer and was told I had a valve cover gasket leak.. quoted $450 to fix.

I bought this car from a honda dealer, and i got the honda care on it until 78k miles or 2015. Checked with Honda care and it was covered with $100 deductible..

Got the work done at BMW, then rep called and said that the car i have still has the CPO on it to 100k mile or end of 2014, so they'll use that and my out of pocket cost is just $50 deductible

Is it redundant to have both warranty at the same time?

It seems like the honda care coverage is more comprehensive than the CPO

It would save me about $2500 if i get rid of the warranty from Honda..

Expert opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I didn't know that the car was CPO .. I purchased the car from a Honda dealer.. I just found that that it was CPO when I took it in for the VCG repair.. also didn't know that the CPO was transferable.

The first thing you should do is find out exactly how much time is left on the CPO warranty. Next, you should compare what the Honda warranty covers that the CPO doesn't. There are a few areas that the BMW warranty doesn't cover. After doing that research, you'll have a better idea on whether to cancel the Honda warranty.
