Don't buy one before you drive it. Have you considered anything other than a BMW?

Are you up for rockstar racing next weekend and maybe a drive afterwards (or just a drive)?

Umm...

- Weird gap at hood-to-kidney intersection on driver's side.

- Sunroof with no Idrive? I've never seen that combo before.

But if they'll let you test drive one that's your best bet locally. Does Peake have any new ones in stock?

Nice find man! I'm going to try to swing by there tomorrow. Looks like a chitty place to buy but to test drive that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Granted it's always the common comparison to make (the utilitarian M3 versus the "specialists" in the Cayman and Z06) but I'd be interested in hearing why you are cross-shopping those two?

You bet. Craigslist is helpful, sometimes.

I will be in Mississippi, that weekend. I will definitely be going for a drive the following weekend. Taking my buddy with a 5.0 out to tear shit up. Would make for a good video opportunity.

Wuddp Doc?
Access port but I really don't want to change out the FMIC. Is it really necessary?

I eat sleep breathe cars... Im well aware of the drastic differences bt the M3, Cayman S and ZedOughtSex.
My last 3 cars have been a Cobra, Vette and now the 335. I was asked earlier what other cars I was considering and I gave my honest answers however I've all ready decided I wanted to go the M3 route mainly bc I want a back seat for my daily driver. And Im not quite ready yet to step up to the Porsche.

Doc there's just to much heat, you need either downpipes or the front mount.

Well new car for me. Im looking at either a 10' or 11' DCT M3. Do any of you La peeps know of any private sellers or dealers not raping you with prices on used M3's?

Im so picky with what I want colorwise, trimwise that it looks like ill be going out of state again to buy exactly what I want but I figured I need to exhaust any and all M3's for sale locally first.
Did you try looking in the Houston area? I know it's not local but it's only a 5 hour drive. You could also check the M3 classifieds on M3 post.
As for test driving one locally I don't really have an answer for ya.

I didn't check Houston specifically but I will now. Autotrader has some close by.
I'll check the M3 classifieds on here that's a good idea.
I called the dealership on Siegan that was posted earlier and I'm going to try to test dive that 08' 6M tomorrow.
Might not be the 11' DCT ECP but should give me an idea of how it would feel.

I was told by Cobb to do the FMIC, dp, and a dci. I am currently researching the difference between dp with and without the catalytic converter. I still need to pass my emissions test when getting my yearly brake tag and I am afraid the cat less dp's will fail the test. Any info from here would be appreciated.

If you are going to get DPs with race cats you might as well not get them, thats the honest truth. They are so close to the turbos they really are not much better at all. In BR they only check for readiness, so cobb will erase that code and you will pass emissions. Even if they hooked a sniffer up, you would still pass b/c you have the mid cats in there as well.
