I made an exhaust video for some friends who aren't local. I figured I would share it with you guys as well!

Stock exhaust isn't much to get excited about but what ever. Just watch it anyway.

Hi Nick.
Your car is sexy! I'm looking for the same car, but may never find it unfortunately like you got. How long it take you to find it? How did you find it? Autotrader?

Your pics..what camera you using? I could never get my pics like that man. How you do it?

I see that you had an e36, how did you ever decide to get rid of it since all your cars are nice..?

Damn....

I feel very lucky to have gotten this particular car! The color combo was really important to me but was second to being a one-owner, 6spd w/ Navigation, sedan... I was certain not to budge from those specs. Its a pretty neat combonation if I don't say so myself. hehe

I planned on buying something in the next 6 months but I hadn't made up my mind on either an E39 M5 or the 335i sedan. In my spare time I was always on the forums, CL and autotrader on the look out for either one since they are close to the same price right now. I've had a crush on both cars since they were new! Such awesome cars! Found this 335 on autotrader in Seattle and had to have it. It hit each one of my requirements so I called the owner and got the ball rolling, posted my E36 on CL... so on and so forth as I posted in the first post.

Camera?
Canon T3i with a few pieces of glass and many years of practice.

Why did I get rid of my cars?

I'm getting older and wanted something nicer, faster, better! lol I've had the E36 for 5 1/2 years and I wanted something else. It was time for a change. I love the body style and the performance but with 175K miles the car was getting tired. The E30 was an impulse buy for $800 from a local professor who babied it for the last 15 years and pretty much gave it to me! I couldn't say no, Im a fanatic!. It was fun to have and DD for the last 4 years. E30s are incredible cars.

Hi Nick - great looking car. I'm up here in Seattle and I think I actually went and had a look at it before you made the purchase! Couldn't make a decision though and the fact that it was a manual made it harder, because the wife can't drive a stick. Ended up passing on it and going for the only other color combo I could have wanted, black on black with the aluminum trim!! 2008 335xi with a Dinan Stage 1 - and coming from a 2006 Mini Cooper S (tuned / upgraded to 210bhp) this car is a beast to drive!!

Todays project: Water pump and thermostat removed and replaced

Over all the job wasn't as bad as I imagined. I hate dealing with fluids though. Its always a messy job... I think the whole job took 7 hours with a lunch break. Most of that time was spent on the removal phase. Once I had everything out it all went back together pretty quick.

I'm glad that stuff is done and as far as I know she doesnt need any more maintenance. Now I can focus on some fun stuff! I'd like to get tuned next.

I wasnt concerned with taking photos for documentation purposes. I was just working as fast as I could. I feel more connected with the car! I do love wrenching for that reason alone.

Hi Nick. Glad you got it done. Do you know when the water pump was last changed? You just saved yourself $500 for labor!

It was the original pump and tstat. I felt like I was on borrowed time, which is why I did it.
