This maintenance schedule has the new BMW and 'old school' BMW (Mike Miller) maintenance schedule. I got this (prepared by someone else) from one of the forums and just converted the miles to km.

Let me know if you want the excel file from which it was generated from.

That gives you a pretty good idea of what maintenance should be done. The only thing I disagree with is the transmission fluid replacement. According to BMW they use 'Lifetime' oil which doesn't need to be changed ever. That's bullshit, there is no such thing as lifetime oil and I change mine when shifting gets a little rough.

Yeah BMW's lifetime = 100k miles haha.

I changed my tranny fluid well before that.

I think over the years they have done enough analysis to determine which fluids last longer then previously thought or the newer fluids perform better.

Why would BMW state lifetime and not state say 130,000km to change the transmission fluid? It would be in their best interest to have you back at the dealership in 130,000km. So who, knows really.

I will change at 130,000km also.

haha Ya because when your transmission conks out at 100k with their 'infinity oil' they know your out of warranty.

You can do what you like my good man, but its a fact that no oil is lifetime oil whether its transmission, motor or differential oil. Besides the fact that after a certain number of kilometers switching gears feels like shit, your transmission will love you if you change the oil and shifts will be smoother than ever.

BMW is in the business of making money first and foremost. They are also the ones that claim their wastegates aren't lemons...

Oops, I meant to type 100,000km instead of 130,000km (typo). No, no, I totally agree. I will be changing my transmission fluid at 100,000km.

Does this service guideline work for the N55 as well? I don't see why it wouldn't unless someone tells me different.

Thanks,

Exactly right. Pretty sure BMW knows more about these things than people here.

Thanks,
Reviving this thread. Wondering the same thing. Can this maintenance schedule be used for an N55 (335i)? If not, is there a N55 version out there somewhere?
