Post Steel wheels from dealership or canadian tire set? What do you think

I recently bought a set of 4 17'' tourens rims and michelin x-ice3 tires last week, I'm waiting to get them installed next week at canadian tire. I'm having second thoughts about installing them at CT because of what i heard and the reviews. I called my BMW dealership today and asked them if they have steel wheels for my 2011 323i and they did in stock. I'm thinking of cancelling the rim set at canadian tire and just buy the tires and bring it to my dealership and have them install the steel wheels and tires, they may need to install a new TPMS because the winter tires are non run-flats. what do you guys think?

rims steel

The rims that you will get from CT, if they are hubcentric made in Switzerland, you should be OK, how will you know ? Well they will be silver on the face.
If you will get quality Chinese multi-fit ..... gooood luck with those ! Almost guarantied issues afterwards. But then again what did you expect for $59 ea ?
If it would be me I would cancel the CT order and BMW here I come....

You mentioned in your original post that your tires were ordered from CT in 17" - if so you may want to double check the steel wheels you ordered from BMW. AFAIK the only steelies with correct offset that BMW sells for E90 are 16" and if you go up to 17" the winter pkgs are alloys (usually Style 159).

FWIW there's no reason to buy 17" wheels for a 323 or 328 for your winters... 16" will clear the rotors just fine. That size will also allow you to run a narrower 205 width tire for better performance in snow/slush and also reduce the risk of damage to the rims from pothole impacts.

Why buy over priced steel wheels from BMW when you can get this for what I can only assume will still be cheaper than what the stealership wants. Plus you get half decent looking wheels and top of the line rubber?

Friends never let friends buy from the dealership.

Why is it so bad to buy rims from costco, tire rack, etc.? My old rims were OEM bmw and I also had cheap steelies - no difference what so ever.
