ahaha seriously. SOW events range from $100-$150 so this is a STEAL. I just re-read the letter too and the $10 is just the gate fee to get into Willow Springs International Raceway, so the event is essentially free99!!!

Well you will obviously need a helmet. Other then that, factor in gas (i usually use one full tank from driving to the event, running 4-5 sessions, and then driving home), and lunch thats about it.

I guess i should mention that going into WSIR is just like a amusement park. Basically everyone that wants to enter whether you are driving or not will have to pay the $10 gate fee.

Oh and i got a 2 PM's about this too, but WSIR has its own rules that states NO Ride Alongs so no you cannot have passengers in your car (except instructors obviously).

You have to have bought your car from new century or i guess go to them for service or parts. Only way you can get in is if you get the letter+confirmation #. Unless you know someone that got it and doesnt want to go, maybe then can register it under your name.

I want to go but did not get a letter and would never risk my safety by going on track with STUSA...

Im sure you can. But you will have to pay the $10 gate fee. You can even park in the pit area with us and hang out/check out the cars, only thing you cant do is get on the track haha. But the question is, are you willing to drive 100+ miles just to come and watch.

I hear what your saying, but last time i ran with them it was not too bad. If i had a choice, they would definitely be on the end list of a org i would go with, but for $10, having to deal with them coming late and a few other small quirks is fine by me.

I got 2 invitations in the mail last week. Hopefully my wife would go with me. Otherwise, it is her brother that have to attend the track day.

just got my confirmation, i am ready to sign up but I don't have a helmet and I am not sure if my friends have any. Do they rent the helmets out?

Also, I was looking at the Speed Trial USA page for this event and they are charging their members $130 for pre-registration. Is New Century BMW waiving this charge for us?

you trippin Jack haha. STUSA event by themselves is on the 7th. But the BMW event is on the 6th. Im not sure if speedtrial rents out helmets, you can shoot them a email and tell them you are signed up for their 12/6 event with NCBMW and see if you can rent a helmet. Keep in mind that they ARE allowing even Motorcycle helmets if you are running in beginners. If you are running intermediate or advance, you must have SA2000 or higher.
