Think I've had my sunglasses robbed whilst at a garage
Just noticed that my sunglasses aren't in my car. The only places where the car has been is at garages for the gearbox and MOT. I'm sure they must have been taken there as I'm the only one who drives my car. No one else is ever alone in my car and I haven't needed the sunglasses for a while, hence the amount of time to notice. I only have now as I got petrol and went to put the receipt in the centre console.
But that was in March when those bits were done. The gearbox was at a BMW dealership but the MOT was done elsewhere as the dealership was booked up. I doubt there's much I can do now is there? Anyone else had this? I know this is going to seem like a major fail thread but I just need to vent at the thought of some **** helping themselves to my stuff. |

Sadly faced with opertunity sticky fingered people will take their chances.
Going to be very difficult to prove when you can't even pinpoint where they went missing. Hope they were not expensive. |

10 years ago, when I was (alot) younger and a typical 'youth', I had a small amount of , lets call it 'magic herb' stolen from my oddments tray when my car went into a garage
Couldn't complain about it due the fact I shouldn't have had it. |

I don't take everything out, i would leave some loose change and remember how much was there. Then when i get the car back, i take a look. If there is something missing, i know what type of ppl are working on my car. It worth the money lol

I used to religiously strip my car of everything whenever I took any of my old cars in to a garage for anything. But I'd missed my MOT date and was desperate to get it done. As BMW was booked up for a week, my brother told me about place that did them for £25. It was a 'while you wait' and I just didn't remember to take bits out in the rush.

Bad luck mate and after this amount of time you're going to have to put it down to experience. I always take everything of value out of the car. Sadly people will take anything. Though they'd be disappointed with my prescription sunglasses .

Agree with what every one saying - are you sure they were in the car as I have trouble keeping tabs on mine, they're often to be found in the weirdest of places.

Definitely in the car. I only used them when I was driving so kept them in the car so I always had them when needed.
Like I've already said, pretty much the only time I've not stripped any car I've owned. |

I should for sure send a complaining email or letter to the Dealer.
I 'lost' an emergency spare key, it was attached to the spare key, whilst in for a service at a BMW Main Dealer. I kicked up a fuss and they replaced it free of charge. Even if they don't replace the the sunglasses at least they will know what their staff are up to. Go for it! Rant & Rave! |

Feel for you mate, I "lost" a very expensive pair of oakleys last year in a hire car. We where picking it up from gatwick and just after putting all our stuff in we found the car to be faulty so we had the car changed but in the transfer process I left my glasses in the car, I noticed I had left them within an hour and phoned the hire depo but they said that there was no sign of them. Totally gutted, even now.

IMO too much time has passed by now to go pointing the finger.
I don't agree with what has happened but the passage of time now is too great. |
