Golf Tee mod reversed..

I have been driving around with the golf tee mod for a while now and i love the sound. I am taking my car in for service tomorrow and had to put it back. I emailed my SA and advised him about my intake. He said that himself and the shop manager would have no issues with it. The only thing they would worry about was a tune..cool...

I hate the way the car w/o the mod. I used to be able to chirp the next car's alarm in my apt. carport but w/o it.. nothing.. I also was able to set off car alarms at parking lots too.. can't wait to get that damn microfilter changed so I can do the mod again!!!

I hate to even post this because there's nothing more to this dead horse at this point than a pile of glue. But...why are you reversing a simple vacuume flap in the muffler before taking it to the dealer? I would hope that they would realize that:
a) it doesn't make a damn bit of difference to the car
b) their own BMW performance exhaust system "golf tees" the hose.

No sense in leaving it in for service.......why take the risk? It takes about 15 seconds to hook it back up. With that being said I hated the way it droned on the highway and reversed it.

Be sure to wipe it down thoroughly to remove any fingerprints the dealer might find

And blow it off to make sure you don't leave any skin cells. Wouldn't want them getting a DNA sample and matching it to you, CSI Miami style!

i really wonder what some of you guys definition of "drone" is.
if you can't stand a golf tee mod how would you guys ever live with a real exhaust? my god that would be ear shattering!!

I couldn't hear any drone when I had the golf tee mod back in the day, but I guess some people are more sensitive than others. Hell, the eisenhaus race that I have now doesn't even drone on the highway.

BTW, I agree with you in reversing it just so the dealer doesn't bust your balls. We all realize that it doesn't affect anything, but why take a chance if it will lead to some possible aggravation later on? Also, the car alarms by you must be super sensitive because I never set anything off with my exhaust.

+1, drone with golf tee? Puhhlease. I took my exhaust off, went to stock, did the golf tee and now I'm ordering up another exhaust.

Ok, Ok go easy on the guy.
"golf tee" (stupid name) mod, I like to call "EBV mod" (exhaust butterfly valve mod...almost as stupid of a name, but at least accurate) will have zero effect on warranty.
Personally, unless they are looking at your exhaust for some reason, they'll never know anyway.
And it's ONLY for sound.
They'd have more of an argument for aftermarket wheels/tires hurting your car, and that would be ridiculous too.

Don't stress over it.
I love the sound with EBV mod done. Drone, what drone, that's a rumble and it's sweet.

-Yeap! ur a tool! If I have a question I will ask. If I have a statement I will post it. I don't however appreciate smart-a$$es like you coming into other people's threads and sh!tting on it. I usually enjoy posting here but its TOOLS like you that drag these forums down. I've done a lot of nice things for the people here like giving away free shwag in raffles to keep things fun and interesting. Doing something nice for strangers I don't even know

As far as modding my car goes? I will mod it if and when I please. I don't need a TOOL like you telling me how I should maintain or enjoy my car. Don't like the post? Don't add your worthless 2 cents because I don't need it. In short: take your holier than thou attitude and shove it...

see thats the problem, your a over sensitive person taking it too much to heart, while if you read the my post it is basically saying if you are complaining of golf tee mod being droning, it will get worst if you stay and read these induction threads because SOONER OR LATER you will get the modding bug....So as much as you claim that u help people here on this forum, you need to help yourself and look in the mirror and get some ego in you, my friend...I am a tool...WOW...where did you learn this word...By the way if you look at your thread, there are alot of people being sarcastic, but i guess in your native language there is no such word as that i assume!! Have a little sense of humor, it makes you live longer...

By the way...I have never heard of alarms being set off from the GOLF TEE MOD..but in your case it must be the mother of all golf tee mods, so i apologize for being a tool to you..
But to be useful in your thread, if warranty is in question for you for a simple mod like this, it very simple to revert back to stock and have no worries...there I said it for you

Signed Cn555ic...AKA Tool!! I love that word

Can we all get along and play nice now before I have to start deleting posts?
