Looking for DMTL pump location on 2006 E90 330i
Need some help locating exact location of the Charcoal canister and the DMTL pump that's connected directly to it. Seems it can be in several different places of E90. Anyone got a Bentley manual that they could check please?? Thanks....RDT

It's attached to the gas tank. Do a google search or check on realoem.com. Should be on passenger side. Just remove the underpanel on either side and check.

here you go, hope it helps. The manual says its on the left rear of the car and it appears to be the black and white thing with the hoses coming out of it and attached to the black rectangular cannister.
I think I've got the same problem you have, are you going to replace the dtml or just clean it out? I'm trying to find the time to do it. |

Hey Thanks! Wow, I was just getting ready to say this is great, but I just looked and the muffler occupies all most all of the space it shows in your manual! My only other guess for it in the back is the area between the battery box and the trunk box. I see a tube and a hose that seem to come from the gas tank going there under the cover on the right side of the rear. Going to look there this week end. Sheesh! ....RDT

Found it! Carbon canister and DMTL pump !!
The carbon canister and attached DMTL pump on my 2006 330i was in between the battery box and the trunk box under the cover. Replaced it, cleared the code and will see if it stays gone. Be careful with the rubber spacer/gromment on the big inlet, put some lube on it so it slips back on easy. Hallelujah!!! Incidently this car started out in Californika, not sure if that is why it's different from the Bently manual. http://www.e90post.com/forums/images..............RDT

Out of interest...why? These are usually fit for life items.

Had a SES engine light and error 2402 which indicated the DMTL unit was bad. I had cleared the code twice and it returned. Have been running several days after replacing it no SES light or any codes. I just replaced the small pump unit, not the carbon canister unit, you can see the DMTL pump laying on the cover in the last pic.....RDT

Great Pics Thanks!
Had SES light on with code P2402 on my 2006 330xi. Changed pump last night and hopefully this solves the problem. Your pics helped me locate the pump and the job only took 30 mins to perform. The dealer wanted $400!You'll need and 8mm, 10mm, and a screw driver.
