Retrofitting CIC Nav

Hi Guys, I\'m thinking off swapping out my CCC Nav for the newer CIC Nav in my e93.
There\'s currently a group buy on here by Bimmerretrofit.
Cost is circa £2k but that\'s including CIC with DAB, Combox, Connected Drive, Internet, Video in motion including cabling and coding.
Nagging question I\'m having is, is the CIC £2k better than the current CCC I have ?
I very much doubt I\'d get the £2k back come resale.
Any thoughts ????

It sounds like a bargain to me. I was quoted £800 on my last car just for DAB. I've never used the old nav but CIC is fantastic. The RTTI (Real tme traffic information) is also really good.

One of the reasons I'm looking into is I've just traded in the mrs X5 for a GT wich has the new Nav and I know it's so much better than the old one.
If I remove DAB and combox stuff it comes down to £1200 but with my e93 having DAB currently I wouldn't want a car without it now.
Plus connected drive is pretty cool having the album art and able to get Facebook and Twitter on the Nav screen.

Well, £1200 for CIC and £600 back on your CCC means £600 to upgrade.
No brainer I reckon.

Yeah, all the time, and from abroad, so kit in the UK I reckon it will sell easy, definitely for £500 anyway.

Will you not need USB as well to get the album art? Also you will need the Mobile Apps 6NR application for Facebook etc.

Maybe be better to buy a new car with the nav you want when you change car. Also less can go wrong.

Yes they mention it as being part of the group buy. I wish I had specified it for my 2011 car

What is the DAB aerial arrangement going to be? Are they going to fit an OEM one or an add on? Worth checking.

My understanding is that for the Band we use in the UK the aerial in the rear window is used. You just! need a wiring harness to feed the signal to the DAB module in the boot.

Already have DAB in the car so covered on this one.

Not sure wether to get DAB or not with the CIC.

If I go for the combox with connected apps you can get web radio which is very good.

DAB is totally separate to the CIC so I don't understand your dilemma.

Apparantly in the new CIC there is something in the actual unit.

I dont know if they've moved the actual DAB tuner into it or not but there are various CIC units dependant on TV/DAB.
