Oh no, not again

The E90 is back at the dealers for the 4th time in 9 months of ownership, again with a misfire, general poor / sluggish running and this time an intermittent exhaust gas warning light thing.

I really am fed up of this car, dont get me wrong, i love it when its running right, but it has been the least reliable car i have ever owned. The mrs is really not in the best of health at the moment and i need a reliable car to get her to and from hospital appointments etc.

I cant see me keeping it after February when the warranty expires, there is too high a risk of an expensive repair bill. The garage reckon they have spent in excess of 3k in the previous repairs and i am waiting to hear what needs doing this time. Erghhhh!!!!

You don't need that grief my friend. Definitely time to consider changing if possible.

I do believe you originally were looking to purchase an e91, well, now is a fitting time to search for one and put the problematic 320i behind you.

You know you want to.

The 2.0 petrol does seem to be a crap engine, hope you find a suitable replacement.

I just wish I found this forum before I got the car, never would have got a 320i. I would never recommend one to anyone.

Think I am going to have to. Going to end up losing a few grand but I need something that won't let me down. Not the best time to sell either.

Your right, I did / do want an e91. And I know the 320d is a for superior engine with fewer faults, but this experience has really put me off the e9x series.

So, picked the car up today after having a new injector, told it was fixed. Guess what, driving home from work at 2200hrs tonight and engine management light comes on, loses power and starts to misfire. I am fed up of this F%$%*&£ car!!!

Man that sucks

How many times the car been in for this?

There anything you can do about the dealer taking the car back because of too many repeat failures?

If it's under warranty, take it to Battersea BMW, you won't regret the trip down !

What's the difference with Battersea BMW then? Are they more likely to be sympathetic?

BMW Battersea is not the usual numpty franchaise dealership, it is owned by BMW UK. Employs the best technicians, who actually care about what they do.

There are several members on here that will agree.

They specialise mainly with *problem* cars, usually sent by dealer network who cannot sort an ongoing problem with a customer's car.

I really feel your pain. I have had my fair share of problems with a warranty claim working out at once a month for the last 6 months!

Last time it went in for a new clutch and flywheel. The car is only 1year 10months old.

Anyway, I have had it with this car and so has the lease company. It will be gone in the new year.
I will do a thread about this another day.

Good luck with this mate. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
