If you're looking for a portable system, I recommend the Garmin. Get the one that pronounces the street names. It's a marriage saver.

Nuvi 255W is outstanding. (Much better than the 260 at finding satellites). Best $300 I've spent in awhile.

I'd go with something different...

[u2b]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IVEuYN4Q7_M&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IVEuYN4Q7_M&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/u2b]

Or if you're a Mr.T fan... (Video is not as good, but it'd be a tough call, Mr.T vs Knight Rider.)
[u2b]<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EHqnurRfIQw&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EHqnurRfIQw&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>[/u2b]

Is it true that Tomtom have free upgrades on internet (not Garmin)? I would have reconsidered my Garmin NUVI 370 (although I love it) for them.

I finally got a garmin nuvi 660 because the price was ridiculously low ($299 about 6 weeks ago, but it seems to have gone up again). Once I loaded the red light and speed camera files, it became very useful to me. Also, I uploaded the 2009 maps for free (and it still doesn't have many roads but what can you do?).

I don't know if it can or cannot, but if the iDrive navi can't tell you where a red light cam or speed cam is, that's all the reason in the world to me to spend $299 instead of $2000 on navi.

Yes I just got a TomTom 920 last week and think is great you can ven edit roads, add, delete, correct and set speeds for roads for the audio alarms if you go over the speedlimit. Also you get free software updates for a year and free voice and pio's.
I got mine a Buy.com for $310 shipped and it lists for $599.
