Is the HPFP fixed yet???
Sorry I dont know much about the N54 engine or the 335i, but is the fuel pump problem fixed yet? I really want to step up from my 328i into something faster and be able to tune it. I was even considering a 335d, I know its not as fast as the 335i but I dont want to end up constantly being at the dealer getting new fuel pumps.
Thanks |

I'm just curious, is there any failure report with the latest fuel pump number?
haven't seen any yet...

Well I really like the 335d and the tuning capability is there also. Not as much as the 335i but still a nice dd with 330-340 hp with a remap. I may just go this route, I just wish it came in a coupe! |

I have put 20,000 KM on my car since I bought it in September. Been running 93 octane COBB V2.02 with ghetto 94 octane Husky fuel for 10,000 km of those.. Never had a hiccup with my HPFP, BMW recalled and replaced it about 2 months ago, but she has always ran strong as hell for me!
Even during our -40 celcius winter with it being parked outside for 3 months when I stayed at my fathers... started up within a second like a champ! It's really a hit or miss with the cars... It's like an Rx7 Some people go forever on a stock engine... others go through 3 engines... These cars are still worth every penny! |

You'll be singing a different tune if you start going through a new fuel pump every 3-5k. I didn't have a fuel pump issue until 55k, but I'm about to go through 2 of them within 8k. Its not a good feeling when you can't depend on your 50k vehicle to take your family on weekend vacation 3 hours away. Having to always revert to your wife's car for things because you don't trust yours affects the balance of "car powers" in a marriage.

I know what your saying, I would feel the same way if I was in your shoes.
I'm at 59,000K with no issues. I've heard the 2007's have not had the same issues as the newer vehicles as well.. Not sure if that is ligit or not. |

My 07 was great for years till they forced a SW update on me and then it has been all downhill since. wastgate issues, 4 pumps, and now most likely turbos.... good times.
