Help.

I have 2011 335i e90 still stock. I got 4 inch cat less Downpipes stock exhaust and planning on doing alpina b3 flash. Is it a good idea or no?! And what will be the outcome. Any errors for installing down pipes?

U will get a check engine light for the downpipes being catless, if u pair it with a tune, the tune would keep the light cleared.

You also won't see much benefit from the downpipe unless you get a tune to run more boost. Stock boost with catless downpipe won't give u Mich gains, but paired with a tune will definitely be noticeable.

If you are trying to make more power and get better sound , yes it is a great idea.
You will get an engine code that you can either ignore or get a JB4 to auto-clear it

Catless downpipes will give you an improvement over stock, but if you are looking for more power JB4 should be your first mod

I agree with the posts above. I picked up my 2011 e90 6 months ago. I went jb4, chargepipe, then downpipe, fmic, and now meth and turbo. I'm happy with results.

Pick up a jb4 first so you get the most out of your downpipe. Not to mention it clears codes and makes you run much smoother...

Question on the Downpipe...will a catless downpipe fail emission/inspection tests?

If so, does a catted downpipe supply any gains? When paired with a tune.

Catless downpipes will fail emission
Catted will provide 75% of the sound and performance of the catless DP

The Alpina B3 flash is awesome, Alex@Alpinemss.com did mine and it was very easy. You will need to buy this exact cable (link at the bottom) for him to do it remotely. It was very cheap and well worth it. You also can get other things coded at the same time.

you don't need a hundred dollar cable...he did mine remotely with a @20 ebay cable without issues. I've since done the flash myself for a few people with the same cable and have never had a single issue.

help him/her out and post the link, The cable I posted works for sure. EBay is a 50-50 chance, but for $20 it may be worth it.

This one says 1998-2008, but if it works that's awesome. I was too excited to get the TCU flash so I just got the one from one stop electronics.

Do you have an automatic? Sport mode with downpipe sounds good like it should. Regular drive mode sounds like you're in 5th gear driving 20mph... It shifts you into the highest gear possible for that speed. I dont like it. Wonder if there's a flash for Alpina sport mode and Normal drive mode

There is. I don't remember the number to flash but I've seen it on forums. Gives you sport and manual from alpina but regular drive (you don't get to see which gear it's in). Search and you'll find it

I'll be searching for this! Regular D does shift way too quick. Thanks!
