If so, just installing a voltage divider for each sensor would work. I'll probably do it this way regardless; you don't purchase resistors individually anyway.

Just a thought...
It does, remember we talked about this. "muddled signal" is part of the wording. Wouldn't fix the other issue though.

I do not not think the other issue you are refrring to has anything to do with peak to peak levels. Using a voltage divider will shift the waveform down in it's DC offset and will reduce the peak to peak delta. I do not see the change in delta being an issue though as it can change more than the percentage described on its own.

That said, I wonder if the issue you saw has more to do with the frequency. I know the frequency of a switching O2 sensor does change when it is behind a catalyst. Perhaps that may explain issues some have seen.

Regardless, I'll be down this road soon enough and if I encounter any issues, thankfully I have the tools to look into it; handheld scopes, etc.

I'll be doing this in about two weeks when I get my downpipes in, but I had a few questions.

This DIY still applies to v3.1 maps correct?

Also, If I still have my V2 harness, can I use the male and female ECU pin outs to make the O2 sim? Then all I have to do is extract the straight black wires from the PNP harness and put in my home made O2 sim. This eliminates me hacking up my V3 PNP Harness.

Yes, it works with 3.1, and yes u can use the wires from an old harness so u don't have to splice the v3 harness. That is exactly what I did few weeks ago and it works like a charm.

Cool. You used the exact ohm rated resistors as mentioned?

Sure did, followed this DIY and made a patch-in cable with my old v2 harness wires, removed the wires from the harness and put mine it. Takes less than 10 mins and is much better than paying $100 for a o2 simm.

SES light doesnt just go away after you install the O2 sims. You must clear the code first and it will not come back when the O2 sims are on the car.

I just plugged in C-Reader and got codes
036: HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
040: ?
161: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Codes display have been repeated 4+ times but didnt clear automatically, Is there any way to clear them?

Press start without hitting the Brake pedal. Let the power to the dash come on (ignition on).

Then go ahead use the C-reader to read the codes and clear them. Pull the key out and then turn on the car....

i also get the 036: HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
I clear them with c-reader and that same code comes back after a day or so. Seems like i have a bad 02 sensor. Let me know if you find out what is causing that code to come up... Thanks

You have already done the hardest part. The rest is under the engine cover and is just a connector. Edit, that is for the front sensors. The connector for the rear sensors is just to the left of the sensors
