I use the iViNi app with a OBDII bluetooth dongle, works great. Does all the basics (ie. turn off DRL, change halo brightness, seatbelt chimes, digital speedo, etc). As for the more detailed stuff, haven't looked into that yet. Used it on 6 different cars, zero issues.

My adapter finally came in and I was able to try it out.
For some reason, I wasn't able to get a solid connection using cheaper alternative adaptors.. But with the one from iViNi, I was able to get a good connection without any problem. I'm glad to say that I was able code my car using BMWhat bluetooth adaptor and app. I can help code your car only if it's from this list. http://www.ivini-apps.com/coding.html PM me! |

"There is a crucial difference between models produced after about 03/2007 and those produced before that date. Models after 03/2007 can be coded with the Bluetooth adapter - except for the E83, which always needs a cable connection to be coded. Models manufactured before 03/2007 need a USB OBD cable connection, because the communication quality of the older vehicles is not stable enough to be coded via Bluetooth." - from http://www.ivini-apps.com/coding.html
Anyone have a setup with a cable? Mines an 01/2007. Lucky me. UPDATE "As if coding my lights were my only concern..." I just picked up my car from the shop yesterday as the engine light came on and cylinder 3 was misfiring. So in the end there were other issues which resulted in 6 ignition coils being replaced, a head valve cover gasket due to a small oil leak, two drive tensioner pulleys and a belt. FML... and that’s not the end of it. The day I went to pick up my car the DCS, ABS, Emergency Brake and engine light all came on as the tech was pulling the car out of the shop. Even worst the tech ran some diagnostics and can't figure out what the issue is (the car isn't giving any error codes and is running fine, he tried two different testers). He's concluded that the ABS module may be out of sync and no longer wants to communicate with the rest of the car. Apparently it needs to be programmed/coded back in line with the other modules. I feel like I'm in a night club while driving my car now with all the bells, whistles and lights going on and off. There are so many errors its ridiculous. Not a very good experience at all with my first BMW and I've only had this thing for less than a year. It also needs more work down the road. Rear differential is going and the lifters in the engine are starting to click (9 hour job). shoot me now. Last edited by dakoo12; 04-04-2015 at 01:31 PM.. |

As mentioned before, if you car model is after face lift (after 03/2007), I can help code your car as I have the bluetooth adaptor and the full app.
If your car is before face lift (before 03/2007), you need the cable to code with this app. If you buy the cable, or you can borrow the cable from someone, I'll be happy to help you code the car using my paid app. If you want to do all sorts of coding and play around with options yourself, I suggest you buy the adaptor+app or cable+app. In my opinion, the app is really easy to use, explains really well what each code does, and the results are great. You can do all sorts of coding for your car and it's a great buy in my opinion. (I do not work for the company lol I'm just really satisfied with the results) |

ended up taking my car to the shop again. different one this time that has more experience with coding/programming and lighting. glad to say. all the issues have been fixed. no more errors. drl were coded out, corner delete and AE were hard lined. bulb out errors removed and car has been coded for bixenons. also the shop was able to reprogram the ABS module so it's back in line. all in all I won't be needing any coding for now. ☺
