Can you remove front headrests?

As stated really..... I tried removing the front passenger headrest but couldn't get it off. Is it actually removable?

Thanks

Well mine comes out just by pushing the tab in and lifting evenly, takes a bit of a pull. However, later cars may have crash-active front headrests fitted, e.g:

Perhaps that prevents yours coming out? Might be worth punching your exact model into realoem.

I've given it a proper tug and can't budge it.... but no problem, not a biggy.

I think active headrests cannot be removed.

Cheers. What exactly does an active headrest do?

To prevent damage to the cervical spine in a whiplash type situation, the head rest moves forward so neck has less movement backwards in an accident.
