JB4 Log Review
Hi all,
These are my first logs (ever!) from today. I currently run a BMS Intake, ER charge pipe and JB4 G5 Map 1 DD. I am looking for feedback on the safety of running Map 2 as my DD (as well as anything else that might look odd). Thanks! 2011 e90 N55 335xi sedan M Sport 6spMT |

What fuel are you running? Your lacking quite a bit of timing advance, your avg ign retard is probably getting higher as your advance seems to be going under at some points. How many kms on current spark plugs?
Boost is on target, map 2 isnt recommended without a catless downpipe, even then, you're lacking octane to run higher boost thats for sure. |

93 octane. Catless dp comes in today. Install tomorrow. Bought the car a year ago so not sure about the spark plugs. Should I upgrade them/change them?

I would change the plugs, honestly that timing looks pretty bad for 93 octane and map 1. Plus it would be nice to change them and know that they're new. The tune definitely puts more stress on them, so worn plugs just turn into worst plugs.
You can get the stock pre gapped plugs, or get NGK which are one step colder and gap them yourself to 0.022". I would do that before switching to map 2, swap plugs, relog on map 1, watch your ign1 value and if it is improved (higher). It should be better, and then kick her in map 2! Catless dp is awesome, you really hear her spool up especially on higher boost! |

Thanks for the help. I'll have the shop doing my DP install upgrade the plugs at the same time.

Significant throttle closures, fuel ok although fairly unstable in one log.
For the amount of boost you're running (low) there is quite a bit of power/torque left on the table especially in midrange with a protune from us on Cobb. Even getting a Cobb AP so you can flash one of the free off the shelf BMS maps would probably help clean some things up/improve it but its hard to say before you try and log it on your car. PTF |

New Day, New Logs, New Plugs, New N54tuning.com 3.5in meowless DP installed.
Upload is acting weird. New logs here: http://n54tech.com/forums/showthread...712#post408712 Surprised I only hit 13 on map 5 with my mods. Think I should just run Map 2 DD?

I like map 2 for its consistency, your IAT are 110+ I think that would make the jb4 lower boost target. I'm guessing it was hot out and you're on stock intercooler?
Your timing is definitely improved with the plugs! |

After back to back pulls it heatsoaks pretty easily, higher IAT=jb4 autotunes boost down. I would use map 2 and log that see how it is. Should be pretty fast and timing shouldn't be too bad.

Do a log in map 2 and post it up, I think you'll be fine but a good fmic should be next on your list. Intercooler will help keep power consistent, instead of heating up after a couple pulls. I ran map 2 daily fbo 94 octane.
