N55 BMW Performance Power Kit Installed

I have had the N55 PPK installed

The gains are very small compared to the price of the kit ; +20hp and +50NM but definitely noticeable especially in 1st and 2nd gears.
Also, the car feels significantly stronger past 5000 rpms. Better throttle response at low rpms too, pulls harder.

Seems to be improving over the time, yesterday it felt stronger than the day I picked up the car. I had asked the service advisor if it needed some time to adopt and he said no , but I believe he had no idea.

The fog lights are replaced with 335is air ducts , I did not know they had to do this and I personally don’t like it but no big deal.

Before the PPK , oil temperature was at 110 C (230) and barely past 120 C (248) when I pushed.
I was expecting lower temperatures after the PPK but it easily passed 130 C (266) after pushing a bit. Cools down much faster though.
As soon as I have some time, I will have it checked to see whether something went wrong during the installation. Unlikely, but just in case.

Other than that, no disappointments with the kit – I was not expecting a huge improvement anyway and I am happy with it.

Same higher tempterature issue with my friend's. the PPK has a bigger fan, so the temp should be lower, but its not.
try to change back to the orinigal n55 spark plug. dont use the spark plugs which came with the ppk. cuz they are n54's
and see your temp would go low a bit.

I think you should check with your local dealer, i believe it is much cheaper in US.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think they changed spark plugs but will check.

The PPK has nothing to do with the oil cooler(OC). You still retain the same stock oil cooler. The PPK included an additional Rad and bigger fan for the main Rad. There is no additioanl OC

Everything else is software

Maybe they needed the N54 spark plugs because they needed a different heat range, I wouldn't say that's a mistake, really.

OP, I really like the fog light delete, now your car looks more sporty and purposeful, like a 335is

just a general question for you. do u like ur car running in lower or higher temperature? and plus heat is the number 1 killer for the turbo car. so think about it...

I hope you don't mean the Christmas light thing? Once a year on the tree is good enough for me.

so the N55 PPK
includes:
additional water cooler and a more powerful fan for the main radiator.
air ducts
and oil cooler for bimmer's with increased top speed limiter.
and software.

stage 1 is software
state 2 is software and hardware

emre can you confirm.

Yes, i already had the oil cooler prior to the ppk though.
ian2002525 says it also includes N54 spark plugs, but i have the invoice before me and it does not mention spark plugs, neither did the service advisor.

Stage 1 - 2 is a US thing i believe, here you get both hardware and software when you order the kit. Hardware is not a stand-alone option.

Thanks for the report on the PPK.

The higher oil temps are normal, all cars that go beyond the stock power have this issue. Also, the additional radiator does not really help with this, as several friends of mine have already noticed. If you want lower oil temps, replace the stock oil cooler with a bigger core.

Still can't decide if I want to do this or not . Torque increase for the auto is nice and I really like the fog light delete.

Please research "spark plug heat range" on the Internet...it's not what you think
