Interesting! Can I ask what kind of tire you are fitting? I'm hearing conflicting stories of what rubs and what doesn't on both 9.5 and 10 wide rims. If I go 10 wide it may limit my tire choices...

@ Nick and Brad, I guess BMW NA don't trust us to use rear foglights correctly! (Looking at some Audi and MB drivers maybe I can understand that). Anyway, if you guys are interested I could see how much the light switch is at the dealer in my hometown back in Ireland. I'm sure it'll be a little more than the $60 I paid for mine from Tischer, but at least you'll be sure that you have a genuine OEM part. Let me know.
PS I saw some members on here have rigged the blanking plug on the US switch to function as a button. You do get correct function of the lights and the dashboard warning lights, but the switch will not have the actual lighted rear fog symbol. It's a cheap option if you are not bothered about having the OEM looking switch. |

OK, so to try and put some numbers to this, talking about the rear only:
Stock set up is style 189, 18 x 8.5, ET37 with 255/35 tires By switching to the following options: 19 x 9.5, ET33 with 265/30 tires: would have 9mm less clearance to the strut, and the outside of the wheel would extend a further 17mm 19 x 10, ET37 with 275/30 tires: would have 19mm less clearance to the strut, and the outside of the wheel would extend a further 19mm 19 x 10, ET38 with 275/30 tires: would have 20mm less clearance to the strut, and the outside of the wheel would extend a further 18mm It would be interesting to see just how much clearance there is to the strut and fender edge with the stock wheels, at least to see how much space there is to play with - any ideas? Aaron, what brand of tire do you have? It would seem that some tires cause rubbing issues while some do not, even when the same size. Also, do you have much stretching / rim protrusion beyond the sidewall with a 265 tire on a 10 wide wheel? |

Currently using General Exclaim UHP's, nothing fancy. There is a small amount of stretch with the 265 width, but not too bad. But that might vary by the style of the wheels too.

Hey Guys, I also forgot to subscribe to this thread! I've been busy the last few days with school and destroying my car's front end. Sorry it's taken a few days to respond to PMs. As I mentioned at Imola, I started with the brake ducts this week, and it's way more than I bargained for. Let's just say my car I needed to make custom brackets to hold the radiator and intercooler in place, because I cut the front bumper support out. I'll post up a DIY in the suspension/brake section in a couple days, but I'm still waiting to get to the machine shop to make brackets out of billet instead of crappy steel.
Anyway, here's a teaser picture! |

Yeah, that's mine. My lifetime motocross number is 375, and it's one of those inconspicuous things that very few people would notice--and inside thing. I actually got the number for a 735il, and switched them around.

I just posted up a few more pics in the suspension/brakes section.
I will be updating it as I get the billet aluminum bracket done and the dust guards to mate with the hoses. Here's the link! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347978 |

Beautiful as always! Yeah, some spacers will make flush. :drool
I really like those V701s that Kevin put on my car but I was looking through my old pictures. I feel like I'm going to regret switching..... My summer wheels are M3 CSL reps. EDIT: Looking through our conversations here, I think we need to start a Minnesota Chat Thread. |

Good point, it's pretty quiet over there! Did you ever get some window stickers made up like the mnaudi guys have? After seeing one on the R8 last weekend I'm starting to notice them on lots of Audis!
