My list:
-Make the sunroof optional. I've never used it and it would be nice to have the option to lose the ~50lbs it adds in the wrong place. -Step-less doors from the e65 7 series. They make life so much easier in tight parking spaces. -Optional LSD -DCT -Perforated seats -Nicer leather on the dash -Anthracite headliner option. Deny me this and I swear I won't buy the next 3. -No more RFTs. Just give us a tire-repair kit -Figure out how to lose 300lbs from the coupe. This will get you started: --Sunroof optional, -50lbs --CFRP hood, -10lbs --CFRP trunk, -5lbs --Lightweight exhaust, -40lbs, --Lightweight battery (Lithium phosphate instead of AGM), -30lbs --No RFTs, -20lbs --Make power seats optional, light buckets standard, -50lbs That's 205lbs (conservative) and its all pretty cheap. The next 95lbs shouldn't be hard to find. Remember BMW, you're viewed as a premium sports car first and a luxury car second. Go back to your roots.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot:
-add a couple matte paint options: matte grey and silver for starters -matte wood would be nice -don't even think for a second about dropping the aluminum trim

They must have - I can see no other explanation... Unless BMWNA changed it for MY 2009/2010? Things like this are linked to regional programming, and from what I heard, it is not so easy to change individual settings because of this (unlike MB, where individual settings can be tweaked at will). I may be mistaken about it, though - would like some light shed on this.

...what? Are you aware of Vanos? v-tec is like an on/off switch, there's economy mode and then performance mode and it's based on RPM while Vanos is stepless (infinitely variable) and is based on throttle position, RPM and a number of other factors. It's light years ahead of v-tec.

That is a space saving spare with jack included. Doesn't take too much space. I'm using a trunk net with it wrapped inside attached to the back of the inside of the trunk.

Reposition the cruise control stalk. I hit it at least twice everyday trying to use my signals. Either bring it back to the steering wheel or put in on the right side of the steering column.

Totally agree with some of the performance things like LSD, DCT, etc. I also wish BMW would be more reasonable with its pricing for options and make more things standard, being the cutting edge company that it is:
1. iPod Adaptor for $400? For real? Who doesn't own an iPod these days? This should be standard. 2. Bluetooth is only part of the ZPP? What is this? 1990? Bluetooth should be standard. It's even standard on a Prius. 3. Comfort Access for $500? For real? It's even standard on a base Prius. 4. XM/Satellite radio. Again, even standard on a base Prius. |

The only thing I wish for next 3-series is that BMW stops punishing people who want xDrive. I want to have the top line diesel engine, active steering and sport suspension with xDrive. If BMW throws in a DCT, I wouldn't complain.

I agree that BMW should be RWD, but it seems like BMW is starting to push its xDrive more and more. In Canada, you can no longer buy a 535i w/o xDrive and the 7 just got the AWD system. Maybe with the next generation, you'll get AWD and diesel. But I haven't seen BMW offer sport suspension on a car with xDrive, so don't get your hopes high on that.

No damn rattle at all, no peeling interior paint. This is the top priority for BMW to be considered a real premium car in my book. I'm damn tired of noises and constant peeling.
And then, make available the best quality interior material as good as the 7er as an option. I want a top luxury car that drives like 3er, not a big bloated luxury car. Don't compromise on quality materials. I'm ready to pay the same or even more money for such a 3er as the 5er and low end 7er.

new compact please.
Where I live you get fined if you drive with foglights and have more than 50m visibility. So it would have to be a personalizable option in the key or something. Same with the wipers. I want to decide when they start being automatic, not the car. To experience what I mean, just set them in the "on" position before leaving the car.
I want the next 3-series to have "compact" variety (the 5GT is really a 7 compact). It's lighter and shorter, but still has more flexible bootspace and a coupe roofline. I also like the different nose. |

No Fuel pumps, or any engine related issues.
A csl or ss rendition for enthusiasts (LSD, no carpeting, ac, power windows/doors) basically a stripper 3 series with regular engine |

If I didn't care how the car feels and how it looks, I would probably go for Audi. But that is just my opinion. And yes, I have driven several Audis. |

Auto Wiper button must be place somewhere else
2. The Auto Wiper button....Needs to have a position where I don't have to worry about pressing it every damn time the car turns off also. Another side note, it needs better placement, I can't tell if the damn things on or off because my steering wheel is blocking it.
THAT IS SO TRUE, KEEP BENDING FORWARD TO MAKE SURE IT IS ON (LIT)! |

Serious or joking? Audi and MB, Infiniti, they use V6's, which are secondarily imbalanced. Why would BMW want to do that, so the cars can not only be way overpriced, but start to vibrate at 4000 rpm as well?
