exhaust help!!
hello i have a 335 n54 jb, injen intake, vrsf dp and i will like to add an exhaust to it, i dont want something too loud but more performance i think the vrsf dp w stock cat feels restrictive and i am thinking either m2 exhaust ( iknw is cheap ) make straight mid pipes eliminate the second cat and just run a straight pipe w stock muffler
any help? what will be better? ( performance ) thanks |

Our catback is about $730 when purchased with a set of downpipes and offers deep tone, no drone and over 40lbs in weight savings over the factory system.
Our system isn't too loud, doesn't rasp and suits the car very well. |

Any updates on the race system replacing the muffler with a resonator?

Nothing yet and I'm not sure if we're going to offer such a thing in the future to be honest. The demand for a droney/loud exhaust hasn't presented itself in enough quantities to justify making these. I really wanted to produce a small batch of these for the guys interested but the volume requirements are preventing us from doing so.
We've done 3-4 variants in house in different muffler/resonator configurations in an attempt to reduce drone and have been unsuccessful in reducing the drone enough to what I'd personally consider a reasonable amount. We've even gone as far as using Helmholtz resonators and the drone is still unbearable in the lower RPM range. The V2 version of our exhaust is quite a bit louder than the V1 due to it's revised baffling, especially with the more free flowing tips we provide. Any reputable exhaust shop would be able to convert our existing exhaust into a "race" exhaust by fabricating a new rear which is what a couple guys who've purchased our system have done. A bit of warning though, if you're interested in a muffler less option on these cars, I highly recommend listening to HPF's exhaust in person. The drone with catless downpipes is unbearable IMO for a daily driven car, and they even use a large straight through resonator/in-line muffler. |
