new car (not yet)
Guys and girls of e90 i need your help
As you know i need to sell the 335d as new house forces sale So i have sorted my new (to me) van landrover defender 90 td5 hard top in white, but i need a car for the miswah and sprogs. So am open to anything as long as: Its big enough for me,mrs,2 kids(seats) pram etc,etc budget is only £8000 but rather only go to £6,500-7,000 as its only a stopgap car for a year or two. Dosent need to be a denzil as we only do about 4-6000 miles a year Id like a nice sound track but isnt a must (is it) Only thing i have seen at the moment that i quite like is a 2001 audi s6 in silver with black leather recaros satnav and a nice 4.2 v8 under the hood but at £7,995 and 85,000 on the clock am i mad any one had, drove one of these before? Really appreciate your input Lee |

Given your criteria 335DPOWER, I reckon the S6 is a good and nicely individual call!
85k miles is hardly intergalactic mileage for such a car if the condition and history are right and you'll have some fun for not a lot of cash. Also, they may not be known as the most involving car out there but let's be honest, driving wise, it's hardly going to be a shitter is it?? More likely it'll be a fantastic car for daily use. Go for it I say! |

Engine and box will be fine with 85k, but wheel bearings, lower arms and bushes start to get a little tired.

The more I look at them the more I want one I know it will not be as good (no where near) as the 35d but for what I will use it for the size and that v8 ruuummmmbllle it will do until the bank allows me to get a nice new car again. And on a side note we only do about 50-100 miles a week and the reviews seem pretty good so it all looks well P.s they don’t look to slouchy either and the funny thing is my old man looked at a brand new one in 2001 at £49,000 I will be getting the same car although cough 9 years old for £7,000 |

I'm not so sure....you obviously need to appreciate it's an older design but Audi's are very well made (better than your 335d I'm sure). Once you accept this I would be surprised if you thought it was nowhere near as good. Different, yes. Inferior? Go drive one and let us know what you think!
