Warranty Replacement ?'s

Hi everyone,

I'm taking my car in for service & I'm wondering if a few things are covered by warranty.

My steering wheel, cup holders, & door handle paint is peeling; my chrome trim around windows are spotty & dull; there are insects in my top break light & one of my tail lights; & my aluminum trim on the doors are scratched & nicked (probably not covered, but just curious).

My dealer previously said the bug tail light problem would have to be covered at my own expense but...has anyone had these issues???

Thank you in advance!

Please take a picture of the car with you next to it, and it will help us determine how to proceed.

The peeling paint may be covered but it is caused by hand cream, face cream, bug repellant, suntan oil and other greasy products like ArmorAll.

Exterior trim isn't covered unless the car is very new as this is caused by environmental issues.

The third brake light should be covered. The others just need to removed, the bugs dumped out and reinstalled.

Thanks for your input! The results: BMW won't warranty the chrome, cracking rubber trim around windows, or basically anything external, since it is caused by the "environment" At least they replaced my steering wheel panel & door handle

Dealer replaced chrome trim above windows both sides on my coupe with 5200mi on her for free. - no questions asked.

Trim looked etched with spots like from acid rain, and there was nothing that would get them out...
