Updating my JB4 for N55

Hi,

I've had my JB4 installed for some time now and have been getting a rough idle. I replaced my spark plugs and have only 20k miles. I would like to update the JB4 in hopes that it will help, but want to make sure I update the right way and do the right version.

Which link should follow even though it says for N54?
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17441 - ISO
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showpo...08&postcount=1 - E Series

I have a 2011 N55 stage 1 JB4 with downpipes.

I tries searching on the forums, but nothing gave me a straight forward answer. Any help would be great!

Do you have a stage 1 http://burgertuning.com/N55_Jb_BMW_P...nce_Tuner.html or a JB4 http://www.burgertuning.com/N55_Stage2_Jb4.html ?

If you have a JB4 and the USB cable to connect to a laptop, download and install the firmware at the bottom of the first post in the second link you posted (E Series). You have a N55, not N54. The tuning is different between them. Also, I doubt updating the JB4 will help with a rough idle and you have a down pipe, not downpipes.

Yes, what weehe126 said.

If you have the JB Stage 1, then you don't have the JB4, and vice-versa.

I'm not even sure if you can connect a USB cable to the Stage 1 to upgrade the firmware.

You can upgrade from a Stage 1 to a JB4 however:

JB4 ISO firmware 5_2 and higher may improve idling for those running the flex fuel wires for E85.

Lastly, perhaps most importantly, your best bet for BMS support whether Stage 1 or JB4 is on their N54tech.com site:
